Oh, Stephen…turn right for Kindleboards…
Stephen King provided some star power at the Kindle2 press conference on Monday. He read an excerpt from his new novella, UR, published exclusively in a Kindle edition. The Kindle in the story – and the Kindle in King’s hands at the press conference–was the color affectionately known as “Pepto Bismol” pink. No problem—apparently King is a Kindle fan and the ereader features prominently in UR.
Kindleboards member Mikuto has already downloaded the story and is whipping right through it. In a message, she shared this little tidbit, “The main character, Wesley, decides to use Google to search for Kindle fansites. He finds one called The Kindle Kandle, with a graphic of a woman in Quaker garb reading her Kindle by candlelight….or maybe that’s kandlelight.” I chuckled when I read her description. “Do you think King has visited Kindleboards?” I asked. “Hmm…” she replied. “I’m ambivalent about whether I want him dropping by…that might be weirder than anything I’ve ever read in one of his books.”
Weird or not, I’d love to have King stop in for a visit! Stephen, turn right for kindleboards: www.kindleboards.com. We have lots of authors and would love to have you join us—and I know for a fact you have lots of fans among our members. We even have author-led book klubs…how would that be for star power?
