I just finished
Killing Lincoln by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard. Clearly, O'Reilly has the platform for the marketing of a book and Dugard must have done most of the research.
The narrative is quite good; in a visual style. Having been to Springfield and viewed Lincoln's house and also the burial crypt back in 1967, I felt then the sorrow of his death in 1865. Reading this book made those emotions all come back to me. THere are many details in the book that surprised and illuminated my understanding of the period. Being a Twain scholar I am not that versed in Lincoln studies.
This is a book both for the masses and the scholar. It holds interest throughout.
