A model's murder takes Cuddy into the jaws of the Boston mob
She was born Tina Danucci, but modeled as Mau Tim Dani., Her friends find the slender beauty strangled to death in her apartment, a priceless necklace of hers nowhere in sight. The police dismiss the murder as an impossible-to-solve botched robbery, so the insurance company hires John Francis Cuddy to do what the homicide detectives can't. But there's something the cops know that Cuddy doesn't: Tina's murder isn't just hard to solve, it could be deadly.

Tina was the granddaughter of Tommy "the Temper" Danucci, the invisible face of the Boston mafia. She turned her back on him to become a model, but hers is the kind of family that never forgets a child. Once Danucci learns that the police have lo...

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, and I don't have a touch so can't be sure, but there used to be a 'notepad' app or 'active content' title that you could get in the Kindle store.  For the kindles with keyboards you could use that to make notes for yourself unconnected to a specific book.  I do not believe it is available for the Touch and I don't know if the developer has plans to update it or if there is another option.

As to notes in the books, you can certainly do that via the Touch. . .that's partly why the on screen keyboard exists. . . .I'm sure someone who actually owns the device will be along shortly and can explain to you how to do so.

An on-screen touch keyboard pops up, on which you type your notes or words to search for. It works well.

It's adequate for typing short things like book titles on the Kindle Store or twitter messages.

This is what it looks like:

it's good for short notes.  It's not a touch type kind of keyboard, more a two finger hunt-and-peck kind.
