Wireless turns itself on.....

I keep wireless off 100% of the time, but my Dad has started using my Kindle and the battery is rocketing towards zero much faster than it should be. I've noticed that when he hands it back to me the wireless is on, solving the battery mystery.

OK so there are two possibilities. Either A: there is something freaky going on here, or B: my Dad is switching it on without knowing (entirely possible but unlikely). He's something of a technophobe and wouldn't be fiddling with settings. He just picks up where he left off and reads.

Is it a touch?  One with "special offers"?  Because you'll see that the ads say that if you touch them, that turns on wireless.  He might accidentally be touching them from the home screen or from the sleep screen and that's what's turning wireless on.  Heck, he might be touching the screen on purpose to wake it up because that's how it's designed with the SO's.

Alternatively, it's possible there's a book that's not indexing properly; to check search for a nonsense word and see what you get as the results.  It should be there are no instances found and no books unindexed.  Here's a link to one of our FAQ's above that might offer some additional insight:
