A model's murder takes Cuddy into the jaws of the Boston mob
She was born Tina Danucci, but modeled as Mau Tim Dani., Her friends find the slender beauty strangled to death in her apartment, a priceless necklace of hers nowhere in sight. The police dismiss the murder as an impossible-to-solve botched robbery, so the insurance company hires John Francis Cuddy to do what the homicide detectives can't. But there's something the cops know that Cuddy doesn't: Tina's murder isn't just hard to solve, it could be deadly.

Sometimes, when I turn the kindle off completely, the screen goes blank but then the top bar reappears for a couple of seconds before disappearing again.

Is this normal?

Many Thanks

Bradez,

welcome to KindleBoards!

You didn't say which model Kindle you have, but:

My K4 ($79 Kindle) does that.  My Kindle Touch does not.

But as long as it disappears completely (as it does on my K4), I would say it's normal and nothing to worry about.

However, I would recommend only putting the Kindle to sleep, (short press of the power button) rather than turn it off completely.  EInk Kindles do not consume power when asleep (or very, very, very, very little).  There's no need to turn it off completely most of the time, it just takes longer to power up to go back to reading!

Betsy,

Thanks for you reply, I have a kindle keyboard if that helps. I'll take your advice and only put it in sleep mode from now on.

Thanks again.

James,

I don't have a KK to test, but because the K4 works that way, I'd say it's not a problem.  As I said, as long as the image goes away, you're fine.

Now, take a look at the Book Corner and the Book Bazaar and get some book recommendations!
