For the first time I pre-ordered a Kindle book Friday evening.  I got no acknowledgement / confirmation of the order from Amazon.  Should I have?  I would think so.  Nothing from them about it.

When it's actually released and delivered you'll get the usual email confirmation.

If you go to MYK, Pending Deliveries, you'll see a list of any items you've pre-ordered, for how much, and when they're due to be delivered.  Your card isn't debited/charged until the book is released.  You can cancel a pre-order on that page too, if you wish.

On the MYK page there is a menu to the left where you can select "Pending Deliveries" and I believe it should be there.

Yeah, it should download a little after midnight on the release date and you'll get the order receipt e-mailed to you at that time as well.
