He's an oily little buzzard, all right. When I was reading this book aloud to my students, they were frustrated that Saj kept getting away. So I held a writing competition called "Kill Sajid". They each had to write his death in the manner they felt he deserved. Got some...umm, interesting responses? They had fun with him, that's for sure! Most of their ideas would have earned an "R" rating for Fire-heart.

OMG, I have too many hobbies! I only just got to the part where they are rescuing Nelwyn! I have been dividing my time between playing guitar, harmonica (both blues) and playing a VERY addictive game on the computer called Skyrim. It's set in a fantasy setting with magic, swords, dragons, etc and has quest after quest that suck you in. Reading has taken a back seat lately except for about 20-30 minutes before bed. I guess I shouldn't complain...having too many things to do is far better than not having enough! Hopefully tonight Sajid gets what's coming to him!

Yep. He's an oily little you-know-what. Took all the Kindle books down last night. It was a bit difficult at the time, but I know it's for the best.

Ouch! Are you going to be able to put up them up again? Or is this part of your new contract with the big guys? It would be a travesty to not have them available for the masses...especially since once they come out again and they get a new infusion of publicity people will start looking for them in multiple formats.

I'm sure Sea Lion will be publishing them all in e-format, but not until the print books come out. The ARC is ready to print...they did it in a 5x8 format, so it looks rather like a brick.

Finally got a chance to make a lot of progress this weekend...the wife and kids were watching the Star Trek movies one after the other all weekend since my youngest got his tonsils out and was largely homebound. So I'm about 66% into the book now, Nelwyn has been bought, sold, rescued, Gaelen has the Fire Cloak and they are going to decide tomorrow morning if they go to Dun Arian with Bint Raed. I can hardly wait for the next "big stuff" to get started!!! <EDIT> Oh, and I forgot, Sajid is STILL on the loose! He needs to get his soon! I can't for the life of me remember what happens to him. That's one nice thing about getting old, not remembering so well anymore and reading books a second time...there is much that's "new" again.

I always find stuff in books the second time I read them. I miss a lot the first time, it seems. Has Azori showed up yet?

Finally! The appropriate death of Cuidag! I also just came across a section I thought was really well-done. When Gaelen finds Siva again was awesome! I do so love this story...even more the second time than the first.
Oh, and who shows up a couple of page turns later but both Azori and Azok! :-)

The choice is tough...so many nice places to consider settling down and so many others to steer clear of! I need to do some research before contacting my realtor about a closing date. Soon...very soon.

Interestingly, the scene where Cuidag's remains are discovered (and dealt with) aroused some indignation in some readers. They believed it was out of character for their "noble" heroines to desecrate a corpse in such manner. They wondered why I had written it.
What is interesting to me is that it never occurred to me that Nelwyn's (or Gaelen's) actions were particularly heinous. Certainly not motivated by nobility, but they served as a relief valve for the simmering hatred they both felt for the creature who had done SO MUCH of evil to those who had saved his miserable life to begin with. Although my view has not changed, I can understand the readers' view, also. I am continually fascinated by the different ways in which readers perceive the writings--it makes me humble. It truly does.

The Spider.... I want to strangle him actually. I can't exactly remember what he did, just that it wasn't good. If he touch Gaelen or Nelwyn...
I kind of wanted to scream "let him be!!"

Archer, you may not know the conflict you sometimes create, therefore I will enlighten you...it is VERY difficult to read such a great story when you eyes are flooding over with tears! I just finished the part when Gaelen has Fima brought to the library to rouse him from his impending death. Well written. I know, were I an author, I would want to know where I had nailed it. That section is a masterpiece. And thank you ending it with a line or two of humor to allow a chance to recover.

Thanks for that, Brew.
It's pretty obvious to me that, as a reader, you really are on the same wavelength that I am. Such readers are rare, and cherished beyond words.
Thank you.
