A model's murder takes Cuddy into the jaws of the Boston mob
She was born Tina Danucci, but modeled as Mau Tim Dani., Her friends find the slender beauty strangled to death in her apartment, a priceless necklace of hers nowhere in sight. The police dismiss the murder as an impossible-to-solve botched robbery, so the insurance company hires John Francis Cuddy to do what the homicide detectives can't. But there's something the cops know that Cuddy doesn't: Tina's murder isn't just hard to solve, it could be deadly.

Tina was the granddaughter of Tommy "the Temper" Danucci, the invisible face of the Boston mafia. She turned her back on him to become a model, but hers is the kind of family that never forgets a child. Once Danucci learns that the police have lo...

I bought my wife a Kindle(the cheapest one) for Christmas.  She decided she would rather have a Touch so I exchanged.  Neither of us knows much about Kindles.

One page on the Touch shows several books that look to be available and hints that there may be as many as 100 listed.  Only about 5 or 6 are shown.  Can others be accessed?  I don't mean the whole books, just the listing.

In general, how do you learn all the ins and outs of the Kindle?  Do I have to buy one of several books that promise to teach all about Kindle?  If that is the only way, I'll be glad to buy whatever is recommended.

Help!

Welcome to KindleBoards!  This is the greatest Kindle forum on the net, if I do say so myself.  Cheesy  Our members will help you get started.

The first thing you should do is read the free user's guide:
http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/kindle/whitney/Kindle_Users_Guide.pdf

Also, there are a gazillion books available on Amazon (I counted them), many of them free.

Have you done the quick start guide?  Registered it and set it up to connect via WiFi?

I would also recommend you check out this link on Amazon's site about registering your Kindle
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_k5land_reg?nodeId=200729870#registering

and there's a link in that to use to set up your WiFi...

I've already registered, set up the router and downloaded 2 books.  Both from my PC.  I was wondering why the Touch showed about 5 or 6 books on a screen,  indicated that there were 100 for less than 3.99(?), but could not access more than the one page.  Is it telling me we have to go to a website to see the rest of the 100?

It sounds like you've got a Kindle with "special offers" and the sleep picture was basically advertising the 100 books they have for $3.99 or less this month.  YOu can see all 100 by going on line to amazon.com. . . .I've not ever clicked the SO from the Kindle to see what it shows you in that case. . . .I'd guess you should be able to tap to go to the next page. . . .

Yes, that was the special offer on my mom's kindle (100 books priced at 3.99 each).  If you touch the ad it will take you a page with a bit more info and you will find a spot to touch to get more details sent to you by e-mail.  The e-mail will then link to the page on amazon, and may have a special code to use.
