I just got a email for a book update and usually you send back the email with "Yes" in the first line to get the updated book. This time it says you can also go to Manage my kindle and do it there. Sure enough, in the left dropdown where the books, magazines etc are listed, there is now also updates available. And if you have annotations turned on, it keeps your notes with the new version.

Neat. I also noticed that my book list populated much faster than usual. I have 1300 books and it usually took a while. Seemed very fast now. Hope that wasn't a fluke  Cheesy

Ohh!  You're right about the loading at MYK. . . . .I have over 1300 and it usually takes a minute or more. . . .loaded this time in just a few seconds.  Cool.

And now I look forward to an 'update' email as well! Cheesy

Cool! It's about time.

Wait! I thought they automatically were adding updates option. Looks like that's not the case.

Wait! I thought they automatically were adding updates option. Looks like that's not the case.

My guess is that the option won't be there unless there is an update available.  So if there is one, you'll get an email directing you to download it if you want it.

I think they will continue to send notices of updates because it's not the sort of thing most people would check regularly for all their books.  But it's nice that now if you get it, you won't necessarily use any notes you've made.  Not that I ever really made any Roll Eyes  but still. Smiley

Yeah, in the email it says you can still do it with replying "yes". But it should be showing in the account as well to check. I don't see the dropdown option on my netbook, which shows the "new" type Amazon website. On my desktop I have the old website and it shows still in the dropdown. I just don't have any more books to update at this time.
But on both computers the load time is so much faster now populating, HUGE improvement.

The time for MYK to load is immensely improved!!  This and the download update option are terrific additions.

Thanks for passing on this news.  I always hated the process for updating books.

I did get one of those update emails.  I went to the MYK page but no update button.   An email took care of it.  Hopefully the bugs get worked out.

MYK is most assuredly faster now. I have nearly 4000 books on my account and it used to take 5-10 minutes to totally populate, this time it took under 2.

That's much nicer! Thanks for mentioning it. Smiley
