For Classical:

Chopin--especially the Piano Concertos.
Rachmaninoff piano concertos, or Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini
Erik Satie
Prokofiev Piano Concerto

And soundtracks are always good. One of my favorites is Elmer Bernstein's To Kill a Mockingbird. Here, try this:

This:

John Barry's Moviola...absolutely wonderful for reading, falling asleep, just sitting there being...

I've never been real big on movie soundtracks, but his Dances With Wolves soundtracks is amazing.  One of the few I've ever bought, many years ago after the movie came out.  I see that album has one song from it, but the entire soundtrack is great.

The musical scores to video games can be quite beautiful, you could try these:

Also, many television shows put out CDs of the musical scores, I have many for Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Supernatural, etc... very good "ambient" music, with a nice variety of moods.

I have classical music on my Kindle that I love listening to while reading. I also love Pandora. Some of the stations I listen to are: classical, nature, Percy Faith, Mozart, etc. Pandora's great because you can tailor mood music instantly.

Try Spiritualized's first album "Lazer Guided Melodies".
Best wishes, Stephen Livingston.
