Hi!

I apologize if this has been asked before.  Since the lighted cover uses the kindle's battery how much faster does it drain when you use the light?  Can I read with the light on for a full hour without having to charge the kindle/keep it plugged in while I read?

Thanks,

Robin / WiccanHot

I have a Kindle Keyboard with a lighted cover.  Everyday, I read about 2 hours a night with the light on, for an hour on the treadmill, and off and on throughout the day and get about 4 days on a charge.

I wouldn't think the KT would vary much.

I read with my KT cover light about 3-4 hours every night & I also charge it about every 4 days. I'm sure I could go longer before charging though, since I never let it get lower than 1/4 charge. I don't want to chance the battery dying out on me while reading, so I go ahead & charge it overnight every few days.

Cagnes, does the bulk of the cover make the KT more comfortable to read one-handed?  Also, it doesn't close.  Is that a problem?

4 days is 3/4 of the battery charge on my KK.

I was previous reading on a Kindle 2 with an Oberon cover, so the KT & lighted cover seems so tiny to me, not bulky at all!

I use an elastic band to keep it closed. While I'm reading I put the elastic band around the cover flap & then slide my hand under the elastic. It makes one handed reading easier, less danger of dropping the kindle since there isn't much to hold on to without touching the screen.
