My co-worker sold me her Kindle Touch 3G w/ Special Offers for a hundred bones! It was an unwanted gift.
The crazy thing... she gave my the receipt from Target which has about three weeks left before the thirty day mark.

I informed her that she could return it herself, but she said she'd rather see me enjoying it knowing I had a Kindle.

I'm conflicted though, if I don't like it and return it, I'll make a profit of around $57 Huh
I don't want to tell her I returned it... that just seems uncomfortable.

I won't get to really get to "play" with it until tonight... so here's hoping I like it.  Smiley

Well, you could always split the profit with her....on the other hand, she made a $100 profit. Smiley

You could also pass on the love and sell it here for somewhere in between what you paid and what the store is asking...

I'm sure you'll like it, but if you don't, and you decide to return it, I wouldn't feel badly.  She was happy with the transaction, and you saved her a trip to the store and a wait at the Target CS desk, so everybody got a fair shake.

Was the kindle paid with cash?  If it was paid with a credit card does the cash go back on the original cc?

If you return a Kindle to Amazon the refund is paid to you in whatever form you purchased. . .so back on a GC or a CC.

I guess if you purchased at Target and paid cash and returned it, they'd refund cash.  That's a pretty standard return policy

If bought on debit, cash is refunded... that I know from experience.

Now, what is up with the battery life on this thing? I fully charged it, today the battery indicator looks to be about 1/2, yes the 3G is on, but still... my DX doesn't pooper out this quickly.

Is that factual or a glitch that'll get fixed via FW update, someday?

Did you load up a bunch of books, Goat?  If so, it may be busy indexing them which will definitely drain the battery faster.

You might also want to check to be sure it's not gotten stuck on one. . . .

My Touch is WiFi only, but I also use the lighted cover every day, and my charge will still last about 2 weeks.

Five books total and nothing appears to be stuck. Since it's 3G I figure I don't need to move all my books out of the archive since they should be accessible anywhere.

I'm going to let it run all the way down and charge it again to see what happens.
