Hi,

My wife gave me Kindle for Christmas a while back.  Then we bought iPads.  Now there's reading books via the Cloud.  I'm lost.

I love taking the Kindle on trips because of its outstanding battery life.  I like reading books on the iPad because it has color.  I would like to read some books on my home PC because it has a big screen.  A SQL book I bought I would like to be able to have handy at work.  When I downloaded the iPad app, all of my books previously purchased were downloaded to the iPad, too, which was great.

I've heard there are download limits on some books and was wondering if putting the books on my iPad after they've already been imported to the Kindle counts against these limits.  Also, if I download, say, a 3rd iteration of the book onto a PC, does that count?

I'm a bit lost and didn't see any clear answers after browsing amazon.com for a bit.

Your books were not downloaded unless you downloaded them.  They should be in the Archives, which means that they are on Amazon's server, not the device.

Books are limited to 6 simultaneous devices unless the publisher says otherwise.  If the book has fewer licenses, it will say on the product page.  Each device or app counts.  If you delete the book from a device or app, and sync, it removes the usage of that book for that device, freeing up a license.
