hsuthard I am gonna go with this one: Mainly since I know so many who read this series and enjoy it. I have been needing a push to read it and this is it. The other two looked great but this one was a one click. Edited the post since I used spell check on it and when rereading it saw I changed hsuthard's name and link wasn't showing.

I've sent this sample to my kindle. It's the one I'm most likely to read from just the amazon descriptions, but I'll look at the sample soon, hopefully. fadedrainbow, My first suggestion is copying another suggestion this month. I wouldn't have thought of mentioning, A Walk in the Woods because of not owning it myself, but it's one I'd definitely want to recommend to someone. You seem to like dystopians, but don't seem to have read any of the ones that made the genre big. This means the recommendation I came up with on my own is 1984. I'll take 1984. I feel ashamed that I haven't read it yet! >.< Thank you!

Geemont, I looked for books that were not in your dealbreakers (which was kind of hard for me!) This is an epic fantasy book that I enjoyed. It is part of a trilogy. This is an urban fantasy book that I really enjoyed. It is part of a series, but I think this first book works fine as a standalone novel. This is my favorite book of all time by far. It fits into the futuristic/dystopian genre. I hope that one of these books works for you. If not, let me know and I can choose a few more.

This is my favorite book of all time by far. It fits into the futuristic/dystopian genre. I'm going with this one. I've books by Atwood before, but I'm already going to read two other fantasy books for the Goodreads Science Fiction/Fantasy ebook group and another might cause me to wig out. Besides it's your favorite book of all time.

I love this book - and the movie version is pretty good too.

Geoffrey, I went with Pastwatch and I'm really enjoying it so far. I might check out the other two books once I get done with this one.
KingAl, I hope you enjoy Nightwatch! It's a big favorite of mine so I'm excited to hear what you think.

Ciscokid, I finished Greyhound. What a great story! I was immediately drawn into it and I absolutely loved the characters of Sebastien and Marcus. I have seen this book recommended a couple of times in the game but it never really made it onto my radar. Thank you for a top notch recommendation!

Geoffrey, the books below are all ones recommended to me in this game that I enjoyed reading. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett Moloka'i by Alan Brennert And a shorter one that is in your comfort zone but not in your Goodreads: Boneshaker by Cherie Priest Let me know if none of these will work for you.

Hi Jlee, I started reading the samples today. I read the sample of the second choice, Good in Bed by Jennifer Weiner, first as I thought it was the one I was least likely to read. l was surprised by the sample and will probably read it second. I then started reading the sample of the third choice, The Widow's War by Sally Gunning, second but did not finish reading the sample. I will try again later. I then read the sample of the first choice, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs, and bought the book as soon as I go to the end of the sample. I finished reading Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children today and enjoyed it very much. Due to this book, the only chore that I completed today was laundry. I did think the ending was abrupt; I expect to be reading the sequel to find out what happens next. Thank you for recommending this book. ETA: I decided to read this book on my new Fire due to the photographs in the book. It worked very well but I will be reading most books on my K2 unless the books have photos or diagrams.

Annalog I'm glad u enjoyed it. My sister normally only reads Amish romances and I talked her into trying it and she Enjoyed it so much now she is trying other Ya books. Tim burton is suppose to direct the movie. I'm not a fan of his But I will have to watch this one. The widows war was a slow start But gradually gets better. Good n bed is funny And the second book had me n tears. Sorry you didn't get anything done today: (

Anna, I'm torn. I've heard great things about Pillars and its a pretty huge book, I've read Moloka'i and Boneshaker is one I've thought about but never got around to picking up .... Between the two I haven't read, I'm still being wishy-washy. Going to need to take a moment and decide. G

Pillars of the Earth is a very good book, Geoffrey. A friend loaned it to me years ago and I really enjoyed it. The only downside is that it is rather long, but I usually enjoy long ones if they are interesting enough.

drenfrow,
I finished Crocodile on the Sandbank today! I have to admit that I almost gave up on it when I was near 40% because up to that point it had a lot of historical information about Egypt and I thought it really distracted from the story. I decided to keep going and it picked up a bit soon after. I didn't find the story very riveting, but the characters were interesting and fun. I'm not a history lover, especially outside of the US, so I probably won't continue on with the series, but thanks for the recommendation! I had heard so many things about the series and wanted to try it but would never do it on my own. I am happy to have tried it out.

I read The Catalysts yesterday. It was even faster moving than I was expecting. Some of the fighting seemed too cinematic for me, but as a whole I liked it. It was definitely attention grabbing.

So I read the prologue to Pillars and thought it was fantastic. Then I got the flu and decided I needed lighter fair since the book I was reading was fairly intense. So I read a silly little murder/spy/thriller called Bad Monkeys, followed immediately by Alas, Babylon. Now I'm back to wanting something fluffy.
I blame it on the fever cooking my brain.
Recently, when I wanted something fluffy, I checked out the audio book version of Hot Water by P. G. Wodehouse. Unfortunately I cannot find a Kindle version of that novel at Amazon or even at Project Gutenberg. Of course, there are several other books by P.G. Wodehouse available. Should I try to pick something fluffy?

Because of it being suggested for someone else this month, I just read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Other than the end, I loved this book. The end bugged me, it didn't have a good conclusion. However, if I see a sequel I'm going to buy it.
