My novella, Fleshbags, was published last year in August and the reviews are awesome so far.  Here's one-

Here's to the undead!, August 22, 2011
By Ron Adams (Hamburg, NY) - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Fleshbags (Kindle Edition)
Growing up, I was fascinated by monsters. Vampires, werewolves, mummies and zombies were like matinee idols, each with their own mythology and back stories. Vampires were blood thirsty, amoral creatures of the night, and once bitten the victim either dies or became one of the undead. Werewolves were mindless killers, victims of other werewolves who become savage beasts in the light of the full moon. Mummies were always the harbingers of an ancient Egyptian curse, bringing death to the tomb raiders that dared disturb the Pharoah's resting place. It was all simple, straight forward, and essentially evil. Now vampires are compassionate and sparkle instead of burn in the daylight. Werewolves are handsome, virile, capable of mercy and as protective the family dog. And mummies no longer look like undead rotted corpses as they inflict terror on their victims; now they look like Hollywood stars.

Thank goodness for zombies. There is a comfort in their consistency, regardless of how they are created. Once a zombie, there is only one thing you do; you seek out the living and eat them, kills them, and they become one of you. Gerald Rice preserves this tradition with distinction with his new novella, Fleshbags. He follows the lives of six main characters in the opening hours of a zombie infestation in suburban Detroit. What makes this twist so unique is his characterizations of the victims. The daycare teacher who doesn't really like toddlers; the cop with a disdain for the fleshbags, so named because of their almost translucent appearance and abdomens so bloated and distended they appear like clear garbage bags; and Loman, the single divorced father whose singular focus is to pick up his daughter from her daycare. We root for them to survive, and one by one they fall. We even get to watch the gradual transformation of Detective Capel of the Detroit PD as he slowly loses himself to the virus that turns him, and the majority of the population of the town, from public servant to undead zombie. After all, haven't you always wondered what zombies think about? Rice paints a horrifying vision of the gradual descent into madness of middle America in response to a man-made threat, and at 77 pages is quickly paced and a fun summer read. The ending will leave you breathless and wanting more, and I can only hope we hear more from Gerald Rice in the near future.

Welcome to KindleBoards, Ron, and congratulations on your book!  Smiley

Please note that KindleBoards is a Readers and Kindle Fan forum.  Authors are always welcome to post anywhere but, as you browse the 'boards, please keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed here in the Book Bazaar.

A brief recap of our rules follows: (Note that this doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; we just want you to have a ready reference, so post this note in every thread. Smiley )

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it and add to it when there is more information, as we ask that authors have only one thread per book.  You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice). If you start a new thread when you already have one, it will be deleted without comment or warning.

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days.  Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then. If you post prematurely, the post will be deleted without comment.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link.  Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows.  This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles!  Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post.  For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
