I'm planning to indie publish my work initially, but I would love to be traditionally published. It would have to be a good deal, however.

Being and Indie has made me a little bit of a control freak (!) But... if the "perfect" deal came along, I'd consider it. Right now, I'm super-pleased with the freedoms I have being Indie. It's been a fantastic journey for me.  Smiley

I'm not interested in being traditionally published. After having my manuscripts tied up for years in that process, I simply don't have the patience for it. I love having complete control and as an entrepreneur for many years, it seems like a no brainer for me.

Do you have aspirations to traditionally publish, or are you an indie through-and-through?

I went through a phase where I said, "I'm an indie forever."

However, I'm a bit less strident now. Here's why:

I lost my day job and that's what pushed me into writing full-time. (That, and a very supportive wife.)

Now that I've had a taste of it, I don't want to go backward to holding down a day job.

So at this point, if signing a limited print deal (say, a three-book contract) meant enough money and financial stability for me to continue writing full-time and NOT having to return to the world of day-jobs, I'd consider it.

Because, indie or trad, I am a fan of being a full-time writer.

If I can make ends meet being completely indie, terrific. If I need a trad-pub deal to ensure that, I'll consider the right sort of deal.

But am I pursuing a trad-pub deal? No.

If someone approaches me? That's a different story.
