I am the creator of Bottled Up Memory, Inc which caters to authors through editing and consulting servies. I am also the top reviewer for Open Book Society where I have worked with a large number of authors through critiqing their work, reviewing books, hosting author interviews, and much more. You can check out Open Book Society at http://openbooksociety.com/

I review books, whether self-published or Indie published or not-even-yet published along the genres of supernatural, fantasy, sci-fi and paranormal (those are the genres Open Book Society specifically reads and reviews). I also take care of author interviews and giveaways and contests. I also host guest blogs via the TeamNerd blog at http://www.nerdalien.com/ There's a specific form we ask that authors fill only so when books are pitched to the staff they can be aware of what they are reading and the author they are working with  Smiley For my review policy (which also includes the form to fill out), you can check out http://www.bottledupmemory.org/review-policy.html

I have also launched an editing and consulting business. If you are an author, in whatever form (commerical published, self-published, etc) and are need of an editor who will care both about you and your work, just email me at cadizwriting at gmail (dot) com. You can also check out the website at: http://www.bottledupmemory.org/index.html

Looking forward to hearing from the many great authors I know are around here and getting to know both the authors and their work  Grin

Looks good, Annabell. I'm sure you'll find a lot of authors - myself included - submitting their books for review. Best of luck with the upcoming workload  Wink

Awesome!! Did you send it through the OBS Author Form or via private message through my email? If you send it through the OBS website, Dawn (the founder of Open Book Society) will get your request and pitch it to the entire staff. I do the same when I get private messages (unless I want to read the book myself and take on reviewing it *hehe*). Open Book Society is a huge website and there's a lot of stuff on there so I'm sure you'll have fun Wink There will be a lot changing in a bit but right now we're just getting things ready.

Thank you for submitting your book!

Haha! Thank you for the well wishes, definitely needed! lol We're always getting requests for reviews so it's always busy at OBS. We're a staff of 12 so we work hard to get reviews done as soon as possible and respond back to authors in a timely manner. Looking forward to hearing from you and getting the chance to read your books! (I am a book fien!! *hehe*)

When she isn't working on helping authors grow as writers and polish their novels, she can often be found creating a mess in the kitchen baking, snuggled in her grandma's sofa reading, riding bike with her nephew, and attempting to find the location of NeverNever Land determined to have Tinker Bell drown her in fairy dust so she can finally learn to fly!

Annabell discussed creating suspense with New York Times Bestselling author, Jennifer McMahon and up and coming author Alex Sinclair.

Ye gods know we need affordable editors in the indie community.  But these are some examples from the website that would lead me to question employing you as an editor.  There has been a lot of discussion on these boards lately not just about indies needing editors, but the quality of the editors being used.  It is essential for those who are offering their services as editors to make sure they put their best virtual faces forward.  Your website should represent the quality of the work that will be performed.

Hello Julie  Smiley

I definitely know that as vast as the world of editors is, not all of them offer both afforadble editing services and a good quality of work (I myself have had a bad experience with an editing company in the past) so I do understand where you are coming from. Thank you for the constructive criticism. Changes have been made and I appreciate your opinion.

Thank you for taking my post in the spirit it was intended.  A lot of those things looked like the sort of mistakes I make when trying to get my site updated in a hurry.  Shocked Shocked  And there have been plenty of times when I've gotten an amused email from a reader pointing out some rather...er...peculiar items that were the result of trying to update the page ten minutes before bedtime!

Yes! It's probably not the smartest idea to work on your website at like three in the morning when you're super tired but sometimes that's the only time you find to do it  Tongue Sometimes though it is because I am being pulled in a million directions and don't catch the mistakes till later. Through Open Book Society we get funny comments about the site or reviews so I get where you're coming from. But since both the sites are to appeal to readers, I (we) always want to make sure our readers (authors) are satisfied and don't feel like they have to struggle to find the information they seek. Especially, for Indie or Self-published authors or Not-Yet-Published because we know they don't get as much love as they should  Undecided
