Type in your book's name, and see all the also-boughts and their also-boughts in a clever animated visual.

I don't get it... I tried it in IE, Firefox, and Chrome and all it does is a screen scrape of Amazon on the right side and display's the same book information as Amazon (except inserts the websites reseller ID on the BUY button)?!?!?!

Am I missing some cool animation thingy that is turned off on my end?

Hi Guys,

Wow, thank you very much for sharing my work! I'm Andrei, author of the site. Deanna tweeted me about this discussion and I wanted to join and thank you all for kind words Smiley!

MikeAngel, sorry about Internet Explorer problem - I'm aware of it, but there is not much I can do about it: the browser is outdated (I guess you are using IE 8 ). The site should work fine in Internet Explorer starting from version 9 and later - they keep up with modern standards.

But best of all it works in Google Chrome  Roll Eyes

Al Schneider The site should show visualization of books often bought together at Amazon.com. MediaBistro recently made great review: http://www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/amazon-book-search-results-visualized_b46441, and they have a picture of what should be seen. If you can't see it then something is definitely wrong. Do you have the latest browser version? Is JavaScript enabled?

Cheers Smiley

How cool is that?
I love it.

It reminds me of software that I use call PersonalBrain that helps me keep track of all the bits and pieces for my books as well as my life in general. It uses pretty much the same visualization techniques so you can link anything to anything.

Way cool.
I love that site.

Very nice and quite instructive.

It demonstrates quite well where a book stands in the Also-Bought cloud.

One interesting element is the way links affect the cloud.  I'm sure someone way smarter than I am could use this to make predictive assumptions.

I've been trying to interpret the arrows. My book seems to lead away a lot more than have arrows pointing toward me. Interesting.

Oh this is really cool. I am not an author, so I am looking at the site as a really useful tool for a reader. I just read a Time Travel book and putting that one into the box, I get so much other potential stuff to look at. So I found some other time travel books and by going farther out with the arrows, it branches, but is still relevant to what I started with.

I haven't used these also boughts and stuff much on Amazon at all. But I will be using this site for it as it just seems more complete and much easier to use. Plus its fun  Grin

Great job Andrei. Nicely done, nicely done indeed.  Grin

Two of my books don't appear and the third merely displays the Amazon product description. Sorry, I don't see the utility otherwise.

Really? Permanent Interests has a huge network attached to it. Are you using IE8? You have to have IE9 or later. Or use Firefox or Chrome.

These five books are the most common also-boughts, according to the site.

Kill Shot (Mitch Rapp)

The Detachment (John Rain Thrillers)

Bloodmoney: A Novel of Espionage

10

The Litigators

The English Assassin
