As far as I can work out people who wish to review a book need an Amazon account but do not need to buy a book in order to review it. For instance, someone who buys a print copy of a book can post a review of the Kindle copy based on their reading of the print copy. Have I got that right , O Wise Ones?

This is true. Publishing your review under the right format, if the book was purchased at Amazon, does get you a verified purchase tag. What concerns do you have?

Thanks Michelle.

I was wondering if some of the people who have read the print edition of my book could post a couple of reviews when I publish it as a Kindle -  to kick start the review process. JB Smiley

Yes, they can post a review, but you must have purchased something on Amazon to post a review of anything. It doesn't have to be the book in question, but you have to have bought something at some point in the past.

Some of the people who'd reviewed the print edition of mine copied theirs over, so unless Amazon have changed the rules in the last few months, yep.
