My virgin offering upon the sacred Kindle alter was my debut thriller, Three Days to Die, back in June of 2011. I'm curious as to how long others have had ebooks up on Amazon.

John,
I published LOST Humanity on March 13, 2011 and followed up with Cartier's Ring on April 6, 2011. LOST Humanity is the bestselling LOST ebook ever published, while Cartier's Ring, my first novel, is an imperceptible blip in the Amazon scheme. I'm selling all of 50-70 copies per month of Cartier's Ring, which is nothing compared to my nonfiction works, but I'm most proud of the fact that I've been able to increase sales on my novel, even a tiny bit. As is frequently repeated on KB, writing is a marathon event, and I don't expect to generate only bestsellers, and I don't expect to see sales always take off immediately. Eleven months doesn't even mark the completion of the first lap on this marathon. I'm looking forward to many more laps to come!

Two years tomorrow since I uploaded my first book figuring a couple of sales would be better than letting it go the dump on my computer's hard drive when I died without ever seeing the light of day. Now I have 4 books and a short story out and since June of 2010 have considered my indie books a successful small business for my retired self.

I published Music in the City and Conversations with the Dead back at the end of July, 2010 as tester stories. I figured if two literary short stories could sell at all under a name with zero internet presence and publishing history, I might try out publishing other stuff myself, as well. And they started selling a few copies a month, so that was that. I didn't start seriously putting work up until January of 2011. By then I was convinced that self-publishing could bring in extra money, especially for fiction that had already sold and had rights reverted.

Silent Tears self-pubbed via CreateSpace (and on Amazon) in 2008. Relaunched by AmazonEncore in 2010. Print version relaunched by HMH/Mariner Books in 2011.

I was publishing POD books before the Kindle showed up. But I launched my first Kindle book in February 2009 which coincidentally was the first indie book to be sold for 99 cents.

35 whole glorious exciting days Feeling much like I did when my first child was born, and thinking about it this is pretty much a similar experience. Do other authors feel like this, and is it the same on the 20th or 30th book ?

I uploaded my 1st novel in February of 2008, when I hadn't the slightest idea what a Kindle was, but the publisher I used(iUniverse) at the time suggested it, since I guess they thought ebooks probably wouldn't take off, so they preferred the author do it themselves. Back then, you had to have your e-book verified by the publisher and you could add your name to a list of authors. I don't remember when that changed.

I published I Wish in May of last year. It had a promising start, but then the sales fell off almost entirely and that's where it's been up until this last week. I put it free through KDP Select and as we speak it's selling more copies in half an hour than it did in an entire month before. I expect it to drop off in the next couple of days as I get over the hump, but in the meantime I'm really enjoying the ride. I'd love to give you some pointers, but I have no idea or else I would have done it a year ago. I guess I'd advise you to be open to experimenting with the things you can control like price, cover, and blurb. And write more stories so that when your book takes off, you don't end up like me and waste your opportunity to leverage the rest of the series. >,<

I self-published my first book on my wedding anniversary so it would be a doubly special day--August 6, 2010. It's been a roller coaster ride ever since and I haven't looked back.

John,
We are twins! Helper12 has been up since June 2011, and Twitch will be up in March 2012.

I published my first book, Through Smoke, in February of 2011. I'm coming up on it's year anniversary on the 20th. I did have a book published before this, back in July of 2010, but it has since been taken down for some rewrites. I also published a book, Dance With the Devil, in November of 2011.
Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a year for Through Smoke!

I published my novella Spouse Hunting in May 2011. The first Flirts! was published in June 2011. It'll be a year before I know it!

Published my first novel, Yellowstone Heart Song (Book 1 in my Yellowstone Romance Series) on January 4th, 2012. Followed up with Book 2 in the series, Yellowstone Redemption on February 1st. Book 3 will be out around March 1st, and hoping to get Book 4 out in April or May. With zero internet presence, and this being my first venture into publishing after my crit partner hounded me for almost a year to get this series published, I took the plunge. With no expectations whatsoever, I feel very happy with my 60+ downloads the first month, and seeing the trend continue this month.
