Hello...

Alright, so my friend has a forum. It was started back in 2005, and at the time, it was mostly used as a place for a small group of us to sort of hang out and chat.

Now, though, most of us have moved on. The site does get activity, but it's very minor. And while it did start out as a writing site, most of us don't really write much anymore - to my knowledge, I'm one of the few who still does.

Now, this friend is looking to "get his site back". I'm thinking of propositioning him into making it a kind of author resource website.

I know, I know. You're thinking, "Ugh, those are a dime a dozen anymore!" Well, I'm HOPING to make it not just writer/author friendly, but I want to also make it blogger, reader, reviewer, and graphic designer friendly. I would LIKE to make it a place where people who can help each other out on this kind of stuff can meet up, chat, and connect. If this hair-brained idea ever took off and became popular, I'd also love to make this a place where people can maybe get in some paid advertising.

Does this even sound possible? I have no idea. I'm pretty unpopular by nature really, so I figure that I couldn't do it by myself. But yeah.

What would you all like to see out of a website like this? Is there anything you would like to see that isn't offered easily?

I come to Writer's Cafe. I haven't found a better resource yet. I also read Konrath, Dean Wesley Smith, & Kristine Rusch. These seem to be all I can handle and helps me cover the bases.

I kind of cringe when I hear an author with less experience (than those mentioned above) is starting another site. There are so many out there and my two cents is it is better for us to concentrate on putting out novels instead of re-inventing the wheel.
