I've decided to take a break from straight crime thrillers and throw something new into the mix. This one is a supernatural thriller written more in a crime novel noirish style. Heres the blurb:

The Farm. A top-secret government compound tucked away in the Sierra Nevada mountains where scientists poke and prod those lucky enough to be born with mental abilities that far exceed those of normal human beings.

Inside the walls of The Farm resides Johnny Torrance, a ten-year-old boy with talents that actively frighten the men who run the compound. Not only can Johnny “see” the impossible via remote viewing, for years he’s had dreams that span the entirety of human history, dreams about a warrior of many faces, a man whose only consistent feature is the number thirteen tattooed on the back of his neck.

Scott Logan is a badass. A former black ops agent turned vigilante-for-hire, he does the dirty work that most people are unable or unwilling to do. When Logan is asked by an enigmatic old friend to rescue Johnny from The Farm, he accepts without hesitation, completely unaware that the tattoo on the back of his neck signifies far more than just the number thirteen.

Once united, Logan and Johnny must evade Logan’s former black ops team and a far more insidious enemy long enough to understand what they truly are; warriors beyond the boundaries of humanity, each with specific roles in the shadow war that dominates our world.

Combining the elements of a supernatural novel with the hardboiled style of a modern crime novel, Thirteen is more than just a thriller. It is an exploration of what it means to be human and the first stage of a journey that will bring our civilization face-to-face with Armageddon.

And here's the link: Thirteen

Again, it will be free until 2/10/12.

Thanks for the vine.

Welcome to KindleBoards, Brian, and congratulations on your book!  Smiley

Please note that KindleBoards is a Readers and Kindle Fan forum.  Authors are always welcome to post anywhere but, as you browse the 'boards, please keep in mind that self-promotion, of any sort, is ONLY allowed here in the Book Bazaar.

A brief recap of our rules follows: (Note that this doesn't mean you've done anything wrong; we just want you to have a ready reference, so post this note in every thread. Smiley )

--Please bookmark this thread (using your browser's bookmark/favorite function) so you can update it and add to it when there is more information, as we ask that authors have only one thread per book.  You may start a separate thread for each book (or you may have one thread per series of books, or one thread for all of your books, it's your choice). If you start a new thread when you already have one, it will be deleted without comment or warning.

--We invite you to use your book cover as your avatar and have links to your book and website in your signature. Instructions are posted here

--While you may respond to member posts to your thread at any time, you may only bump your thread (back-to-back posts by you) once every seven days.  Once you've responded to a member, that resets the clock to zero and you must wait seven days to post, unless another member posts before then. If you post prematurely, the post will be deleted without comment.

--We ask that Amazon reviews not be repeated here as they are easy to find at your book link.  Also, full reviews from other sites should not be posted here, but you may post a short blurb and a link to the full review instead.

--Although self-promotion is limited to the Book Bazaar, our most successful authors have found the best way to promote their books is to be as active throughout KindleBoards as time allows.  This is your target audience--book lovers with Kindles!  Please note that putting link information in the body of your posts constitutes self promotion; please leave your links for your profile signature that will automatically appear on each post.  For information on more ways to promote here on KindleBoards, be sure to check out this thread:
Authors: KindleBoards Tips & FAQ.

All this, and more, is included in our Forum Decorum.  Be sure to check it from time to time for the current guidelines and rules.

Thanks for being part of KindleBoards!  Feel free to send us a PM if you have any questions.

And to Mr. Spangler, thanks for taking a chance on Thirteen. I'd love to hear what you thought about it if you ever get around to reading it.
