Hi,

I've just pubbed my new book on Amazon yesterday (I won't mention its name since I don't want to break any rules), and I've put it into the select program. This is a first for me as select didn't exist when I pubbed the others. So having read the blurb about it, and sort of gaining a rough idea of what it's all aboutI just have a few questions for those of you already familiar with select.

First, and I know thisis going to sound like a really stupid question, how do you find out when your book's been borrowed? Does it come up on your sales report? Or is there another page for borrows?

Next, and this is more general, what's the experience been like for others of you using select? Is it helping sales? Limiting sales in favour of borrows? Would you put your next book on it or stick with the old way? And do you get any reviews through borrows?

Thanks, Greg.

As far as I'm aware it's okay to mention the title of your book, as long as you're not "flogging it" or making it "all about you"; IE linking directly to your Amazon page, posting a blurb as well, etc... and you have a genuine question that relates to the specific book.

I call it the "Don't be a dick" rule.

Regarding your questions, borrows are listed in a second "Borrows" column on the sales report page. No worries about getting them mixed up.

My experience with Select has been extremely positive. In fact, I posted on Slashdot this morning (they had a story about KDP Select) and it had a lot more info, see here: http://news.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=2659275&cid=38961449

In short, at least for the moment, I recommend it.

I accidentally posted this in another thread with a similar title. Oops. >,<

I gathered as many KDP Select stories as I was able to find. There's a lot of good information covered and some really inspiring numbers in the articles. Hope it helps!

Borrows are listed on your KDP sales report, way over on the right-hand side. "Units borrowed," it says.

I've had a good experience too -- certainly had more borrows than I used to have sales on B&N. And it doesn't seemed to have cut into my sales, such as they are. In December, Amazon paid $1.70 a borrow, which I thought was OK. I'm interested to see what it comes out to this month.
