I voted for: The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak; The Princess Bride, by William Goldman; and other. The other book I suggest would be: Wizard's First Rule, by Terry Goodkind. It is the fantasy novel which the TV show "Legend of the Seeker" is based upon. It is a little strange at first, but then once it gets going, I found myself really into it. I'm a hopeless fantasy lover. It's undeniable. I'm not even 1/4 of the way done, but I do enjoy it. I have never been part of a book club before and would be interested in joining. How do I begin? Welcome, truthseeker and congratulations on your first post. Please go the the Introductions section and let us know something about yourself. We have several Book Klubs in progress right now. Our Outlander Klub (led by me) is nearly over and we're probably about halfway through The Whiskey Rebels. You can probably still catch up with Dead Until Dark or In Her Name which we are reading with the author, Mike Hicks. Read the Klub Guidelines, and then check out the child boards for the book you want to read. Each week the Klub leader will assign a set of chapters and the following post questions for those chapters. Then we hop in and discuss. We have two more books we are discussing with the authors. Distant Cousins by Al Past starts next month and Gone for a Soldier by Jeff Hepple starts in April. Just watch for the start up thread. Gertie |

Ive got a few books lined up that I really want to read, and I'm gonna wait to get acclimated in my new class scheduling before I can commit to a book klub, but I really look forward to it.
Water for Elephants was my favorite book this past summer. I thought it was fantastic journey with some real memorable characters. Reading it again would be a pleasure.

I'm new to the Boards and, of course, the Book Klub - so perhaps I'm asking a total "newb" question...but here I go anyway.
Do you guys ever do a Book Klub using self-help books?
I really be interested in doing something like that, as well as getting in on the next regular Book Klub as well.
