Another possible one is Banewrecker by Jaqualine Carey. I would suggest Kushiel's Dart from her but it is the only book in the series that has not been Kindleized (and as the first in the series, should be).

Oh, I loved Banewrecker as well as Godslayer. Very interesting idea for a story.

It was free at Tor.com. Not sure if it still is, I haven't checked for a few days. You need to register at the site. L

I just got it yesterday, so it may still be up. I started it today and the first paragraph/lengthy sentence had my head spinning. It's getting better and it is about Egypt, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

YES FREE BOOKS! I just downloaded it also, can never have enough. I've paid for one book on my Kindle (Five Skies, Ron Carlson), and have so many free ones (including the feedbook guide, and COMPLETE works of Shakespeare). I looooove it.

Ok, I did run a search and read some comments, so forgive me if I have overlooked the answer. I do want to join one of the Klubs. Is there already a place that we need to sign up in advance, or will it be posted when the event begins?

The first one starts on Jan 5 with Outlander. No need to sign up. We'll just have a subforum (did we decided on that, Betsy?) so you can find us easily. Five chapters a week, with the first discussion questions posted on 1/12.

I am a Non US Resident without a CC from a US Bank. As far as I can tell I am a minority of one on KindleBoards.
I vote for a freebie selection for several reasons.
1) I am not allowed to buy KindleBooks from Amazon.
2) There are many Classics and non living authors out there that I have not read and this could be an opportunity to explore those.
Down the line maybe a Freebie could be a regular selection for Book Klub.

Good idea. I dare say many of us could benefit from exposure or re-exposure to the classics. Ann

If we were to do a book club series on the classics, what book would be the first one? I'm thinking of a Jane Austen (we could have a Jane Austen book club, just like the book The Jane Austen Book Club , LOL!) Betsy

Betsy - Perhaps there needs to be a parameter set for what is considered "the classics"? There the "Iliad" to Shakespear to Jane Austen to Charles Dickens to ? Anyways, I need to put my thinking cap on to see what I'd like to nominate here. Marci PS I finally figured out HT do the link maker properly. Whoo-hoo!

Betsy, do we know what the final bookclub choices are and dates they are starting other than Outlander? Did I read a post about this or am I losing my mind? Linda

Linda The only ones chosen so far are in the sticky Book Club Guidelines and Links. Am going to make another couple proposals this week and start a new poll and lock this one. Betsy

I posted on the Kindle Customer Discussion page about starting a book club (before I knew this place even existed) about starting book clubs about the free books. I'd like if there was always a free book club going on, instead of a free book just being an option each time.

Welcome nebulinda and thanks for giving us some feedback on our bookklubs! Please go to the Intro/Welcome Board and introduce yourself. Where are you from, what type books do you enjoy and anything else you would like to share with us. You will receive a warm welcome from people that share a passion for reading and Kindling. We are glad you are here. Linda
