Today is the 4th of July. A day to reflect on our freedom which it is easy to take for granted. What a blessing in our life to have freedom!

This thread is devoted to our blessings. It may be an answered prayer. It may be a kindness that was shown to us. Or it may be all the things we are grateful for.

I have many blessings in my life. Most important is my relationship with God. I am blessed with a wonderful husband. As an American woman, I am blessed with freedom. My heart goes out to women in some countries who are oppressed. I am blessed with good health, a roof over my head, food in my pantry. Thank you, Heavenly Father.

Please feel free to share your blessings. We will all benefit from hearing about them.

Ok.
I am thankful for salvation that I did not (and could not) earn, provided by a God that loves me while I was/am in sin.
And I am thankful that the most wonderful woman in the world loves me.
And I am allowed to love  her.
When we learned to put God first we found that being second was better than it was before.

When I count my blessings, I have trouble getting past those.....

Got health and good grown kids, couple of grandkids, great church.
Wonderful country to grow up in.

Makes me get on my knees an just pray......

In my daily prayers I always thank for those blessings known and unknown.  Even the ones I know become elusive sometimes, and I do know many that are unknown.  The three I specifically thank for each day are my husband and his love, God's guidance and strength when I had my mother to care for, and for my own health and my doctor (I had been through 5 before I found him and he found out what was wrong with me 3 years ago), and then I add other thanks and praise, and then I ask for his blessings and guidance for other people.

Thank you both Suzi and Geoff for your insights and guidance.

We have been praying for my daughter to find a less expensive apartment.  She is just finishing her first year of teaching & first year of living on her own and has been stretched financially more than she expected.

Her apt complex is trying to keep people, but were basically only offering about a $50/month discount.

DD finally found an apt she liked that was less expensive, but would not be available until two weeks after her current lease is up.  She went to see the manager about extending her lease until then, & found that the manager was not aware that DD had turned in her termination notice.  The mgr asked for a chance to see if the owner would meet that price.

The mgr got the owner to come down substantially in price and told her that they haven't gone down this low in price for anyone else. This is a special deal just for her for this year.  DD told her it was an answer to prayer.

DD was quite excited that she does not have to go to the hassle & expense of moving.  She had a very rough start to the new job & area last year and wants to spend the summer getting everything ready for her new classroom.  It is a tremendous blessing that she does not have to worry about moving.  And that she can remain in her apartment which is a gated complex where she feels safer.

My husband just had rotator cuff surgery, so we would not have been able to help much with the move.  So it is also a relief for us that she can remain in the same place.

I have a wonderful praise... Our 12 year old grandson has been staying with me for the past 2 weeks. This week was our Vacation Bible School at our church. He was not happy that he had to go with me and even less happy when he found out that he had to actually go to a class and not hang with me! Tuesday evening just before it was time for VBS to end, Thomas accepted the Lord as his Saviour! He is a different kid and is so excited about his salvation! He goes back to Midland on Friday and is wanting to find a church there to attend. I am one happy and proud Grandma!

Praise the Lord.
There is nothing more fulfilling than to know that one of yours is now His.
