I don't like labeling people or labeling myself, but I know that we all unconsciously do it anyway.  In my real life, some people are astounded when they hear about something I do (or know how to do) or think because they thought they knew everything about me.  This is not usually about religion/belief in God, but it is an example about labeling and putting someone in a box.

I agree that this happens.  It's unfortunate, but, as you said, we all do it.

I try very hard not to, though I'm sure I fail, too.  But when someone else corrects me, I'm glad to learn their own views.

WOW... leave for a couple of months and miss a lot!!

I love these types of discussions. They challenge me to dig further into scripture and to check my own life to make sure I am living what I believe. Thank you all for your contributions. I for one am one who believes that the only one true way to God is through Jesus Christ. I am a sinner saved by grace and am an imperfect being who is made righteous by my acceptance of Jesus as my savior.

I don't even own a kindle...

I know how old this thread is.  I don't even know if all are still around to get this, but I'm gonna cap it off by saying:

One of the FINEST, most insightful and respectful forum discussions I have ever read!

Thank you so much, and many blessings for all

This was a "special" discussion.
It touched a lot of current discussions and fundamental belief.

I believe that we respected one another and avoided personal conflict.

Just sayin.....

Well, again,  thanks for the convo.  A very important one, NOT being had by many who should.

I'm curious to know how the (pardon the word usage) "belief-evolution" has played out in you, mlewis78.  I'd love to know where your thought has brought you.

This thread is quite old, but it seems fitting to me that an update could or should happen.  But then again, who am I?  Perhaps a new thread is needed...

Either way, much gratitude for the good read, All!
