Has anyone downloaded one of the Kindle versions of Dickens "A Christmas Carol"? I see there are several versions available on Amazon, one which says there are illustrations - can I see those on my Kindle 2? I would also like the original, unabridged version and am unsure which one I should choose. Can someone help?
TIA -

I read this one on on my Kindle. It had a couple of typos but otherwise fine. I read it on my DX, the pictures were nice. My other kindle is a k1. So I can't really answer how they look on the k2. "A Christman Carol" is not a long work, I've never come across an abridged version. Not saying there isn't one out there. It is a good story. I hope you enjoy it

I got the complete Dickens from MobiReference. I haven't read it, yet, but they do put out good work. I paid $2.79, but it's now $1.59.

I also have the MobiReference one. It's formatted pretty good.
If you're interested, audible.com has A Christmas Carol narrated by Jim Dale (he reads all the Harry Potter books) and it's excellent!

I was going to suggest the one done by Patrick Stewart.... I could listen to him talk all day long.... Here's the Jim Dale version:
The nice thing about Audible is that you can listen to a sample on the web page before making a purchase decision.... There are about 50 different versions of this book on Audible.

I downloaded the free public domain version from amazon- so far I haven't seen any pix (I just kind of glanced through it), but it seems fine. Pix show up fine on K2 and K1-I have both, and a book like the "Graveyard Book" has lots of illustrations that look fine on both- sharper on K2, but fine on K1.

The mobi I posted has tons of his works. And the Christmas carol has very nice pictures. Worth the price and more, to me. I've been a member of audible for years. I love it. They also has nice poetry read by the poets with, for me adds to my understanding. They even have Robert Frost recordings. And, I think, ihave Plath and Angelo from there as well.

The Patrick Stewart version is also very good. The only problem I have with that one is I keep expecting to hear "Make it so, Number One".
