Editing my original post as it was taken wrong:
I think you should make it clear in your blurb that it is a short story.
Just my opinion, though.
Good luck and congratulations on publishing.

My apologies. I was trying to be helpful.
Obviously, I did not word it correctly.

RedAdept,
Have you read the book? Or looked at a sample?
Yes, $9 is quite a bit to spend for a short autobiography, but it is not your place -- or mine -- to presume or assume what people will pay for a book and consider a good value. Free market economics and all that.
Please keep in mind that here at KindleBoards we try to take a friendly and supportive attitude towards our member authors, vs. confrontational and antagonistic. Your post, IMHO, veers more towards the latter rather than the former so you may want to think about how you word and present things.
Thanks for understanding.

Wow. Red is one of the most active and supportive members of this board who does nothing but provide support for Indie authors such as Jabula and myself. Jabula's book is overpriced and the blurb has grammatical errors. Somebody had to tell him.

I think the moderator was referring to how I worded it: I stated that no one would purchase a short story for $9. The moderator is correct. I should not have said that as someone may purchase it. I guess my pointing out the blurb having errors was just rude. But, I was trying to be helpful as that is the first thing people see and many won't bother with a sample if the blurb has errors.

Gotcha. You did him a favor, though. But maybe this isn't the place for such things. (PS: Don't think I didn't see your "Listmania" list of Indie publications. Just another example of your efforts on behalf of Indie Kindle authors, which I thought might have cut you some slack but I guess doesn't. As far as this author goes, forever grateful.)

Well, no matter how many lists I make, books I buy, and reviews I write, it doesn't give me any right to be rude on this forum. As I said, I was trying to be helpful, but I did type my post quickly on my laptop. If the moderator thought I was rude, then, quite possibly, the author did, too. Therefore, it is fitting that I edited my post.

It is a bit out of my price range, but there are no doubt many fans (of you or your father) who are willing to pay the $9 price. I think you may find out, from some of the other authors here, though, that a lower price will lead to many, many more sales, often enough that you actually make more money, as well as being able to get your story out to many more people. Best of luck, Karen
