What the *>#@?HuhHuhHuh You can't add a Kindle book to your wish list? Hello? Amazon? There's this traditional gift-giving holiday coming up. It's called Christmas. Maybe you've heard of it. Generates a lot of sales for a lot of retailers. Something to think about.

Well, kind of you can. If there has been a customer review, click on the review up by title it says "reviewed by X number of customers", click what ever number is the "X" and after page change a "add to wish list" option will be on the right of your screen (Yellow box I think).

You can add the wish list option to your tool bar and then when you are viewing the item you click on the wish list on your tool bar and add it. This was a work around that someone had posted a while back.

Try this, it has been working for me.

Regardless of any work around, putting a Kindle book on a Wish List will not help someone give you a gift.

You cannot buy Kindle books for other people.

People can, however, buy you an Amazon Gift Card that you can 'apply' to your account and use to one-click purchase Kindle Books.

For people who just use a Wish List for personal use:

When I see a book that I want, but can't purchase right now, I download a sample. My samples ARE my Wish List.

1. Thanks, Red: Oh, and thanks for the review of "Forty Days," btw. Very helpful.

2. People can't buy Kindle Books for other people? And here I thought I was merely complaining about a small, if devilishly annoying, fumble on the part of Amazon. If only I knew. In fact, now I'm wondering what other horrible things I don't know, and not just about Amazon.

3. Don't get me wrong, Amazon is, 99 percent of the time, fabulous. I literally couldn't have done it without them, and I give them very high ratings, considering that they are pioneers in 21st century selling. But, when it comes MARKETING . . . they seem a bit behind a lot of curves, compared to say, Quaker Oats and Coca-Cola.

4. I'll say it again: Christmas is coming, and not just any Christmas.

5. And again, thanks for the review. While we're on the topic, I'm reading EyeLeash: A Blog Novel by young, exceptionally talented author Jess C Scott. I'll post a full review later, but if you're looking for something to read this weekend, I'd already give it a "buy" recommendation to a reader like you, and I haven't even finished it yet.

The gift cards work VERY well.  I just sent one to someone and was very happy with the great selection of e-cards to choose from.  Buying was easy, looking at the cards and personalizing them was easy (it lets you put a picture of yourself or your dog or whatever on some of the cards.)

Just a reminder.  Gift cards are one of the things that if bought through the KBs Harvey will get a small amount to help keep us up and running.

I used to rely on this method, too, but when I started reading books in a series, I couldn't keep the order straight.  With the wish list button, I would add the book and then enter the series number in the comments section.  Is there a workaround for this on the Kindle?

AppleBlossom, Welcome to the Boards.  I wish I had an answer to your question that's more sophisticated than writing them down on a piece of paper.  That's what I do.  I keep a few sheets of paper in my cover of the particular series I'm reading with a little k beside the ones that are kindlized.
Looking forward to more of your posts.

Thanks for the warm welcome, drenee!  I've lurked around here for a while.  This site is great and has answered pretty much all of my K2 questions.  It is a joy coming here and I hope I can pay it forward some day.

I still have the basic Amazon cover (I'll 'grow up' one day :-), so there are no pockets for paper.  I do print out the series from the author's website and then add them to the wish list or download the sample.
