No, they sure can't. They have B&N's DRM on them, so they only work with B&N's computer and phone readers (for now, until the phantom Plastic Logic arrives).
With a little time, there may be *ahem* third party solutions to convert them for Kindle, but that nut ain't been "cracked" (he he) yet.
Personally, it really irritates me. Music finally got made to settle on a couple formats that will play on any player or computer... Why can't books do the same thing? Grr.

Have you checked the other sites that *do* have Kindle-supporting formats? Fictionwise?

I know several of Brian Jacques later ones were available on Amazon, but like the first 13 in the series weren't. I thought it was a publishing concern, but saddened to see it might be some exclusive Barnes and Noble thing. You'll have to let us know if you find them! I would love these on the Kindle as well. You may even try contacting Brian Jacques and the publisher directly to see what's going on.

They suggest .mobi for Kindle, .prc works also, I believe. But they can't be DRM-protected. Not sure whether Fictionwise is.

I don't think fictionwise would work then as it is secure... neither choose in mobi. sylvia

"Authors get the most publicity at launch and need to strike while the iron is hot. If readers can't get their preferred format at that moment, they may buy a different book or just not buy a book at all." - An Amazon spokesman.
“It doesn’t matter how good or bad the product is, the fact is that people don’t read anymore. 40% percent of the people in the U.S. read one book or less last year. The whole conception is flawed at the top because people don’t read anymore.” - S. Jobs
