I don't know if anyone saw this, and I didn't see any topics on it ... In Monday's The Daily Show, Jon Stewart interviewed Douglas Brinkley and briefly mentioned his Kindle exploding. It was a very, very brief mention, but I thought it was funny enough to share. You can watch it here: http://www.thedailyshow.com/Just click the video for Douglas Brinkley, not the intro one, the second one, and you can see it.

Interesting...I wonder if Jon was serious, as he did not sound like he would ever have a Kindle in the Jeff Bezos interview back in February.

I saw that on TV last night. I have that book on my kindle. The number of pages includes notes, index, acknowledgments, etc.

I didn't get a chance to watch this, which is a shame. I hope it gets posted online at some point.

It's already online. If you go to the daily show's website, you can find it there.

I think Pillars of the Earth is 973 pages. You can get it on Kindle. A great read!

I was watching and laughed. As soon as Jon said that I went and downloaded the book. It did not cause my Kindle to explode and looks like a good read.

Same here! Even at the beginning of the show when he hauled the book out acting like it weighed a ton, I thought it would be Kindle perfect.

I was pretty proud of the reference.....he said he was downloading it to "my" kindle...meaning he has one now! After the Jeff Bezos interview in February he seemed a bit baffled by it. Even the small mention on the show is a definite plus for kindle awareness.
