Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

I had to go into the school last week to make an announcement and the book fair was set up in the production room.  I spent $35 on books for the grandkids for Christmas.

Now they're sending us a book fair flyer every month.  These fundraisers get to be a bit much.

According to our City's Chancellor's regulations...we're only allowed to have two fundraisers per school year that will directly involve the students taking time out from class. Our biggest fund raiser is the Fall candy sale.

I have always heard it as bee in her bonnet...but that may be a northeastern thing. I have been told repeatedly I am too much of a northeastern liberal for my own good. LOL.

My girls are now 26 and 27 but what fond memories are the bookfair they had at school.  My girls would spend hours looking thru all the choices since I was always one of the volunteer workers. It was also a great place to get x-mas and b-day presents for the nephews and nieces.

One of my favorite things from my childhood was the bookmobile.  I loved that thing.  I really got into sci fi very early on.

As Harry Potter and JKR, I had seen most of the movies and then one day, I saw Amazon had all of the books except for the very newest one in a boxed set.  I love boxed sets and ordered it.

It was promptly sent and then stolen from my mailbox.  Sad  I ordered another and got it.  Later on I bought the last book and now I am all caught up on the HP series.
