In these pages everyday fishermen, pros, and journalists tell their stories of freak accidents, fishy attacks, pranks, idiotic decisions, eerie or unexplained incidents, and other jaw dropping, adrenalin-pumping calamities. The stories bring to life the strange possibilities that await us once we cast our lines into known and unknown waters.

Here are some of the characters you'll meet inside these pages:

* A sport fisherman who gets taken on harrowing underwater ride by an angry white shark.
* An adventure angler whose boat is over turned by a 200 lb Amazon-river catfish.
* A group of ice fishermen who lose their cabin, gear and pride to a single pike.
* A teenager who sabotages a fish farm and frees 300,000 salmon.

In HC, Breath is 980 pages.  Part Seven ends at Page 524.  So we're more than halfway through.  Part 8 is short, so I may get the discussion posted late tonight or early tomorrow.

Part Seven - Rolling Downhill
Chapters 53 - 57

I thought you might like to know more about Flora MacDonald.  Here’s a link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flora_MacDonald_%28Scottish_Jacobite%29

1.  What do you think of the fact that Flora MacDonald, after her dramatic rescue of Prince Charles, advises the Scots to fight for England?

2.  It has finally hit Jamie that he will have to fight against many of his friends and neighbors.  If it had not been for Claire and her knowledge of the Revolution, do you think Jamie would join the fighting, or just defend the Ridge?  Which side do you think he would fight for?

3.  The third man from Scotland makes himself known to Jocasta.  Do you think this is the same man that stayed back the night Jocasta and Duncan were attacked?  Any idea yet who it is?

4.  Donner shows up at River Run and talks to Claire.  What did you think of his story?

5.  Do you think it is important that there is another portal on Ocracoke Island (the Outer Banks of North Carolina)?

6.  What do you think of the idea of Fergus being a printer?

7.  Were you glad to hear that Bree did not miss her aim when she shot Bonnet?

8.  Jezebel Hatfield Morton ... is she what you expected?

9.  Jamie saves the day once again, and in doing so, humiliated Forbes, as well as seemingly allying himself with the Tories/Loyalists.  What consequences do you think this will have for his plans to support the Revolution?

10.  Do you think Roger has found his true calling?  Do you think he would have become a minister if he had remained in the future?

1.  What do you think of the fact that Flora MacDonald, after her dramatic rescue of Prince Charles, advises the Scots to fight for England?
Maybe she took an oath of loyalty.  According to the link she was arrested and later pardoned.

2.  It has finally hit Jamie that he will have to fight against many of his friends and neighbors.  If it had not been for Claire and her knowledge of the Revolution, do you think Jamie would join the fighting, or just defend the Ridge?  Which side do you think he would fight for?
If he didn't know what was coming he would probably fight for England.  He took an oath and would honor it.

3.  The third man from Scotland makes himself known to Jocasta.  Do you think this is the same man that stayed back the night Jocasta and Duncan were attacked?  Any idea yet who it is?
I would think so.  It’s got to be Bonnet, he's after the gold.

4.  Donner shows up at River Run and talks to Claire.  What did you think of his story?
It’s amazing that there are so many portals.  Interesting that one is on an island in the Bermuda Triangle.

5.  Do you think it is important that there is another portal on Ocracoke Island (the Outer Banks of North Carolina)?
That would be important if Bree and Roger ever decide to go back.

6.  What do you think of the idea of Fergus being a printer?
I think it’s a great way for him to earn a living.  It will be good for him to feel useful again.

7.  Were you glad to hear that Bree did not miss her aim when she shot Bonnet?
She’s her father’s daughter.  Between her and Jocasta, that seems to be a popular target.

8.  Jezebel Hatfield Morton ... is she what you expected?
Not at all.  I expected her to be a mousy homebody, not an Annie Oakley.

9.  Jamie saves the day once again, and in doing so, humiliated Forbes, as well as seemingly allying himself with the Tories/Loyalists.  What consequences do you think this will have for his plans to support the Revolution?
I guess it will be a bit more complicated to go over to the Whigs.

10.  Do you think Roger has found his true calling?  Do you think he would have become a minister if he had remained in the future?
I think he has found himself, but had he stayed in the future he would have been an academic, teaching at the university.
