I found this through a blog post that came up on my Google "Kindle" daily alert message. Pretty cool!

Would be cooler if those were real autographs...

What... you don't think he got Isaac Asimov to sign his Kindle?

Not sure I'd trust Isaac Asimov near my Kindle with anything sharp enough to engrave it >< So even with the real people there to do the signatures it would end up being done exactly how it has been anyway. I know I wouldn't trust Stephen King to do it.

Awww, that's so cool and all, but my Kindle is in a case, so the autographs would be wasted...

Wouldn't it be cool to have a clear skin with all those autographs on it?

Asimov died in 1992. Kindle 1 was released in 2007 so I doubt that the Asimov's autograph is authentic but it's a great replication (I am an Asimov fan and I've seen his autograph)... wonder how it was done so well.

These could be autographs that the owner has collected over the years.
Or maybe he just found them online. Was there any explanation on the blog?

What... you don't think he got Isaac Asimov to sign his Kindle? Let's just say I have my doubts I suspect what the guy did was find a nice facsimile and had it engraved like a tattoo. I can respect that...but think how cool it would be to get real autographs and engrave over those... Or heck, get autographed on skin and tattoo over 'em

I imagine they just got autographs off the web and plugged them into some sort of software that etched it. I really, really doubt this was hand etched, traced or not.

I think some of you got my sarcasm about Asimov... for the rest, I wasn't trying to say these were all actual autographs that the owner got directly signed onto his Kindle... just thought it was a cool idea and looked neat.

I met Isaac Asimov. If Kindles had been around during his lifetime and you were a pretty girl, he'd be willing to autograph it. Isaac liked the pretty girls!

Arthur C. Clark and David Eddings signed that right after Asimov did.

I love the idea! Can you think of any reason you couldn't really do this (with live authors, of course )? Say if there was a Dan Brown book signing and you have The Symbol (due tomorrow!) on your K, ask him to sign the back of your K with a permanent marker?

real or not it is pretty cool. I would rather copy a journal that had all the signitures then made a custom skin. sylvia

It does look neat. Wouldn't it be a good idea for a custom screensaver?
