Are there any maps? in the DTV? in the Kindle version?

I tried to "jump" through the Kindle version this afternoon on my KK; couldn't find any at the very end, nor at the beginning.

I remember reading something about formatting for the DX & map issues and questions about whether they would be managed OK on the 1 or 2.

Anybody know anything?

Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to Skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and shouting: d*mn-What a ride!

I think we were only guessing that the formatting issue was about maps.  What I did notice was some of the chapter headings weren't formatted correctly.  The lines overlapped.

Thanks Gertie.

I have noticed that about the title formatting; kind of distracting.

I meant to ask that same question about the chapter headings.  I actually found a grammatical error!  Also noted towards the end where she was talking in the third person, where this had not particularly happened before.

Who cares - where is the NEXT one  Huh

DG only uses first person when it's Claire speaking.

But it was where Claire was speaking and referring to herself and Jamie in the third person and not where it would have made sense - it was disconcerting, but I got over it.  Don't think I could find it, didn't highlight it.

I didn't notice that.  I'll certainly be reading the book again and I'll watch for it.

It's probably in the last 1/3 or 1/4 - I'll be reading it again myself, after I get caught up a bit, and will make a mental (ha ha ha) note to high light it.

I haven't found anything in Part 7 like this.

Maybe when they were at Lallybroch?  Or after Claire thought Jamie was dead?  I'm not ready to re-read, yet, so let me know if you find anything.

Not sure about at Lallybroch; I finished the book this morning & then re-read Part 7 looking for this; I'm about to go back  re-start the whole thing!

I've actually enjoyed the whole book more than other folks seem to.

I like John Gray & have read all of his books & I liked pulling everyone & everything, including the kitchen sink, into this.
I am truly anxious about Jem though - 202 years ago the tunnel was solid rock; really wonder how she'll get him out of that pickle.

I'd almost be willing to give Brotherhood of the Blade a shot since it introduces Percy, but I found the parts about LJ sans Jamie & Claire in this book as mind-numbingly boring as I did in The Private Matter.

I do like John, but for me, he is at his best interacting with Jamie and Claire.

I know.  I'm putting it out of my mind for four years.

Carol, that's kind of a spoiler, so please add SP tags to your post.

Please join in the discussion.  I'd like to see your PoV about LJ in the discussion threads.  Maybe you can change my mind.   Wink

I think the stones effects go from the top of the stone all the say down into the ground, possibly to the center of the earth, or close to it.  Possibly stronger closer to the top.

Just in case I am going to spoiler this - if you have not read the last part of this book, DO NOT cheat (like I would do  Grin, it won't give you a whole lot of ideas of what is going on anyway)
