Hello there! I had a Kindle a few months ago but had to sell due to financial reasons. I'm now taking the plunge again and buying another Kindle. This time the Kindle International. I'm super excited. However, when I ordered my Kindle, I also ordered the M-Edge Go! cover. I read some of the reviews before making the purchase and they all looked positive. But now I'm seeing a couple of people have said that the hinges have cracked their Kindle. Now I'm really worry about my poor little Kindle. I can't cancel my order for the cover because it says that the order is being processed. So...I'm wondering, should I just return this cover and look for another one? Or did is this case safe for my Kindle?

The only time I've heard of anyone saying there were problems with the hinges were with the Amazon covers.  You shouldn't have a problem at all with the way m-edge has designed their hinge-based covers.

No problem here. Have used the go cover exclusively since I got my kindle. It is perfect for me.

No, though I have not used it for a while. I think the corner straps really help prevent that from happening.

I've been using my M-Edge Go! with no problems for as long as I've had my K2.  The way it's designed, I really don't think it would be possible for it to crack the Kindle if used correctly.  Unlike the Amazon cover, where the Kindle is only attached at the hinge and not at the right edge of the Kindle (unless you add Velcro, glue dots, or straps to it yourself, which many people have done), the Go! cover has corner straps in addition to the hinge that hold the Kindle securely to the back cover.  There is no pressure against the hinge points, as the Kindle stays securely attached to the back of the cover.  In my experience, these elastic straps hold very tightly and securely and have not slipped or stretched at all.

I really think you're safe with the M-Edge Go! as far as the hinges are concerned. Grin

Thank you all for the great replies! Maybe now I won't worry so much about the case damaging my Kindle. After I posted my question, I started looking at other covers and fell in love with a fabric cover over at Bobarra.com. I'm getting the pink and green one. So....now I'm debating if I should send the M-Edge Go! cover back or just keep both of them! Maybe having two covers would be nice. Then I have a choice!

The Bobarra ones really do look very nice -- the pink and green Austen is on my Christmas wish list! Cool

I started to end my previous post with "You may decide that you don't like the Go! for other reasons, but the hinges won't be a problem" but decided against saying that. Cheesy  In actuality I have mixed feelings about my Go!.  The fuscia color is pretty, and now that I have a skin that matches it very well (DG Retro Pink Flowers), I'm happy with it -- but it is kind of plain.  It does seem to provide good protection, but the suede-like interior seems to just pull dust and pet hair out of the air and leave it on the screen of my Kindle.  It hasn't harmed it, but I do find myself wiping it with a glasses cleaning cloth a lot.  The Go! is not perfect, but I haven't found anything I like better!  The Bobarra has definite possibilities, but I'm a little bit concerned about the weight -- that's been my only real reservation.  Oh, that and whether the K2 in the Bobarra would still fit well into the pocket of my Vera Bradley Bowler -- but I think it would. Thanks for the insight! The lint and pet hair thing may drive me crazy. But...I don't know what the inside of the Bobarra cover is made of either. It could have the same issues. Well, I guess I have 30 days to decide if I want to keep the cover or not. Also, I'll let you know about the weight of the Bobarra cover. I'm hoping that it will be light.
