Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

Yeah, I wrote it and I think it's funny and I want other people to read it and laugh until their gut hurts.

Reviews are coming in and they all praise it for being funny.  So that's something I guess.  Some call it crude, but they still laughed so really, they're embarrassed that they laughed, so they call it crude.  I still take it as a compliment.

I'll admit, the book is a bit toward the gritty side.  It's got the F*word in there probably more than it should.  Don't blame me, blame the characters.  They say stuff in my head and I just write it down.  I do it in a funny way so it's okay.  Like when your best friend gets clocked in the nads.  As long as you can make laugh, everything's okay.  But it's gonna be pretty tense until that moment you get him to snort a laugh out.

Of course, you have to wait until he can breathe again.  Sorry, Jerry.

I also slip in a fart joke here and there.  We all laugh at fart jokes; we just don't admit it to anyone but our closest friends.

I want to be your friend.

So if you buy my book (NOW PRICED AT $2.99) ... and you love it ... friend me on the FB.  It's the least you could do.  I'm sometimes funny on there too.

One dude even said it was the funniest book he's read in years.  If he reads a lot of funny books, that means my book is REALLY funny.  If he reads the obits and the business news most of the time, then you'll have to make up your own mind.

Either way, at $2.99, you can't miss.  I'm practically giving it away.  How much is a laugh worth anyway?  If you get 299 laughs from the book, that's a penny a laugh.

That makes it cheaper than going to a comedy club.  And probably funnier.  Plus, you can read it in on the toilet.  Try going to a comedy club and laughing on the toilet.  They throw you out.  Trust me.

So check out the book.  Read the reviews.  Part with your money.

If you really like spending money, you can buy the print version for $13.99.  It looks better on your bookshelf.

Sincerely,
Ross Cavins
