Congratulations, you will love it! We are so glad you found KindleBoards, Eric! We have many areas that you probably will like. Have you been to The Book Corner yet? That's the area for discussions about books (naturally). That's also where you will find threads about books Recommended by our Members and a list of additional sites for Book Lovers. Then there is the Book Bazaar where our member/authors post about their books and hold discussions about writing, publishing and many other topics. That is also where you will find Bargain Books and even Free Books threads where you can find reading material at low or no cost! If you have a question about your Kindle or it's usage, check out the FAQ or the forum about Tips, Tricks and Trouble Shooting . Or, just ask your question. We have many helpful and knowledgeable people here at KB and we feel there is no such thing as a "dumb" question. Another popular place is Let's Talk Kindle, where all things in the Kindle world are posted about. Be sure and check out the Photo Gallery, where pictures of members, pets, flowers, landscapes or just almost anything interesting can be found. Have you been to the Accessories area? There you will see information about covers, skins, lights, bags, stands and many other items to allow you to personalize your Kindle. Looking to just kill some time while you are waiting for your Kindle or if you have your kindle, want to try something different? Try INFINITY Game - Word Association or The "INFINITY" Thread: KEEP POSTING...Ready, Set,... GO!!! in the Not Quite Kindle area. Sorry for the long post, but there is just so much to do, learn and like about KindleBoards that I just get carried away.

I noticed at amazon.com that they were offering free two-day shipping on purchases of new Kindles (naturally anyone reading this should check it themselves before blindly ordering). Sounds like you took advantage of it. Congratulations, I'll bet you love it!

Well, for Christmas, my wife and I decided to try the 30 day free trial of Prime... I tell you, Amazon is pretty smart... when you use Prime... it is so easy to do the 1 click ordering... and when shipping isn't an issue, all of a sudden, they are very competitive with local stores... So with Prime, you can upgrade to 1 day shipping for $3.99... so I decided that I couldn't wait an extra day... so it will be here tomorrow. I already noticed on the "Manage my Kindle" page that it is already registered to me... so now I wait for the brown truck to arrive tomorrow at work... Eric

Eric Well, just so you know...you don't need prime for 1 click ordering. I've never had prime and I use 1 click ordering. and yeah, I didn't wanna wait, and used the one day delivery (just got mine monday, my first ereader I've owned)

Yesterday. . .Thursday. . .was Free Shipping day at a lot of web sites. I admit that I just used free "super saver" when I bought my K1 a year and a half ago. But I'd gotten a Prime membership last Christmas so I could order some stuff for DH and be sure it was here in time. I decided I liked it and kept it. . . .got my DX and my brothers DX with it and also ordered a bunch of stuff this year for presents. I'd say it's paid for itself! Eric, you can download a PDF copy of the Users Guide -- link down aways on the product page -- and have read through it before it arrives. Then you'll be ready to go as soon as it comes. It'll need charging, but you can use it while it's doing that. And if it's already showing in Manage Your Kindle. . . .you can start buying books! Welcome to KindleBoards and Enjoy!

I'm also waiting for my kindle, and hoping every car that enters the street is the UPS truck (even though he is my dog's natural enemy). Great deal on the free 2 day shipping. I bought a Kindle bundle with Amex reward points on friday and it was shipped tuesday. My problem is I'm not sure exactly where it shipped from and how exactly they shipped it....... but since it was purchased with points, I can't really complain.

Congrats, ac7k, I'm sure we won't be hearing much of you for a few days, but that's o.k., it's more than understandable.
