hey my small comumity now has 3 kindles and 1 Kdx, isn't that cool.
question is I was compairing notes with one after he made comment that he was able to get to amazon book store.  so he showed me, I tried mine and no go. 1. should I worry? and 2. mine was purchased at K2's debut and his purchased early December would this make difference?

Different Kindle models have different capabilities.  The K2 and KDX have a larger range than the K1, and the K2i is on a different network.  It sounds like he probably has a K2i, which is on the AT&T network, while you have a K2, which is on Sprint.  So, yes, that could make a difference.

thats what I figure how do I see what version he has? I know I have original K2 so if that was Sprint that is why/

Sounds like he has the K2i which came out in November.  So I wouldn't worry about it.  I don't know how to tell the difference, except all the latest kindles are the international version.
