I am about to pull the plug and order my first Kindle 2. It is sitting in my Amazon cart right now, but before I click to purchase, I want to add a clip light. There seem to be a few on the market. Does anyone have any suggestions which one I might need? In a typical situation, DH is watching TV, which looks best in low light. If I am reading, I have to turn on the overhead light, which is still a bit dim for good reading.

When i bought my kindle i also I purchased an M-Edge Platform cover along with their e-Luminator2 light and loved all 3.  The cover has a little built in pocket for the light's base to slide in to and there is enough room for it to fit under the cover when you aren't using it.  The Platform jacket's nice because you can wrap it back and it will prop up your kindle for you and it comes in a lot of great colors.  The light runs on a double A battery so it's easy to replace and it has 2 brightness settings, nice if you need to read in total darkness or if you need just a little extra light.  And you never have to worry about putting you clip on light on or worrying about where you put it because the e-Luminator2 never needs to me removed to put it away it just fits neatly next to your kindle.

Both links below have some great pictures.

Do the dirty deed and click "BUY" - your life will never be the same again!!!

There are 2 lights that seem to be the most popular - the M-Edge e-Luminator light that can be stored within several of their covers, such as the Prodigy.

Many of us also love the Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light, which can be purchased though Amazon or at local bookstores such as Borders.

I am curious about this also. I just ordered the M-Edge go jacket, which specifically says that their book light is not compatible (I am assuming it doesn't have a little slot for it like the prodigy, or space in the binding to keep it). So, would the mighty bright work the best with that one? It doesn't matter to me much that it can't be stored in the cover.

You can use the Might Bright with any (or no) cover as it just clips on.  I clip my on the cover (not the Kindle) between the back cover & Kindle.
