Fishing’s Greatest Misadventures presents twenty-six true stories which cover the spectrum from terrifying to comical to downright bizarre. In these pages everyday fishermen, pros, and journalists tell their stories of freak accidents, fishy attacks, pranks, idiotic decisions, eerie or unexplained incidents, and other jaw dropping, adrenalin-pumping calamities. I just put this on my Kindle and I'm looking forward to joining in on this study.
This past week, someone gave me two book studies (Mark and Romans) by Max Lucado, so I'll be working on these also.  Has anyone gone through these individual study guides?
I'll be back later with my January 1st comments.

Welcome, akagriff! I have read a few of Max Lucado's books but not those two. Let me know what you think of them. Romans is one of my favorite books. Also John is another fave. Suzi

I'd like to participate.  There is so much good information here.  I downloaded the Grace for the Moment along with 2 of my favorite Bible translations.  Another bonus - I might actually make it through the whole Bible this year!

Welcome, Cheri!!! I think you will really enjoy the one-year bible. It only takes about 15 minutes to read the daily reading. And what a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the year when you can say to yourself that you have read the entire Bible!!

Thanks Suzanne.  I've tried before, but never been able to stick with it.  I debated about doing the chronological bible, which sounds so interesting.
Can't wait to get to know everyone and have some good discussions.

So far I've been able to keep up with this one and the chronological one.  Then again, we're only on the 4th day of the year.....I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can keep up but I really believe I can!

I downloaded a sample of Grace for the Moment.  Would someone tell me if he goes through the Bible chronologically?  I'm asking because it begins with Genesis.  Thanks.

I am enjoying the Grace OYB, it appears perhaps the wording is a bit different, or I am getting old brains and not remembering how things were worded last year  Roll Eyes  I am also reading the Journal, it's only about a page, and guess I'll have to give in and buy the chronological Bible, even tho it is not "dated", I'm trying to keep the sample up with Grace.

No, it doesn't go through it chronologically. It does a section from the Old Testament, New Testament, Psalms & Proverbs every day. On January 1st you start with Genesis 1:1; Matthew 1:1, Psalms 1:1; and Proverbs 1:1. At the end of the year you will have read the entire Bible.

Anju, don't feel pressured to keep up with all the versions. I have whittled mine down to one choice. I don't want to be overwhelmed by too many versions.

But if you are of a mind to read that Chronological Study Bible, there is a reading plan which you can read it in one or two years. Here is the link:

I'll bet you don't look at the temple the same way again.

Thanks Marianner, looks really good, and if I get back NOB one of these days may see if I can find it.  But it's tooo expensive to buy DTB here and difficult to get them as well.  But again, if I find a mule, might just do it.

I sometimes scan the Kindle Boards, but this is the first time I've actually posted.

I saw the Grace for the Moment Bible mentioned several weeks ago and decided to try it.  I've started and stopped more yearly reading programs than i can count and wanted to try again.  I suspect having it on my Kindle helps because I'm keeping up to date - so far!  I love Max's short devotional thoughts and although I'm used to the NIV translation, this one makes for easier reading.  Next year I'd like to try a chronological plan.
