A friend of mine is from Ireland. She will be in the U.S. for another year and a half and then will move back to Ireland. She received a Sony for Christmas. She wants to return it and buy a Kindle. I know Ireland has wireless connections, but how does it work for an International K2....if she lives here for another year and a half and then moves back to Ireland.

I'm in Ireland and it works great
Just make sure she notes the correct country address in her "manage your kindle" so that she does incur roaming fees
Not sure what effect this will have on accessing certain copyright restricted books though Maybe someone with more knowledge on that subject will chip in

When she is in Ireland, keeps the US address she can download to the computer with NO roaming fees. That's what I do here in Mexico. The only time I incur roaming fees is when I am demoing and show the WN download ability and mess up by pushing the button, or even just turning WN on before I have downloaded to the computer. But that's ok, at least I get a book I've been thinking of getting.

If you download via a laptop or PC, then you will not have roaming charges .... if you download via whispernet, there will be a roaming charge.
