The Moon in Deep Winter

Product Description
This literary thriller revolves around Parker Sloane. When he returns from a dismal foray into third-world cash-smuggling to his childhood home in the woods of New England, it seems he’s seeing his country and his blended stepfamily for the first time—and finding both just as twitchy, desperate, paranoid and unpredictable as the underworld types he thought he’d escaped.

Before he can even unpack, Parker goes head-to-head with his relatives—his tyrannical stepfather, seething younger brother, newly evangelical mother, and his alluring younger half-sister Rita—and with the demons they never exorcised.

Delicately but disastrously, Parker attempts to keep his family from imploding, unaware that they have their own plans for escape. The Moon in Deep Winter combines the dark comedy of the Coen brothers with the doomed lyricism of Denis Johnson, creating an airtight world of homicidal family dysfunction.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post here real quick to let everyone know that I am not ignoring anyone, I went to bed early last night with a headache and I am going to take it easy today too. I will be dropping everything in the mail that I promised first thing in the morning, and the pictures that I still need to get up will be up then too!
Thanks for understanding, this time of year reeks havoc with my allergies and I tend to get headaches a lot.

I am so glad to hear that. I have a few packages that were returned, been having some issues with security out here, so I have to go claim them and resend. If you haven't gotten your package yet, give it 10 more days (just because of the holiday) and then let me know. I will be going tomorrw to get them headed back out to you!

I'm Baaaaaaack!
So I haven't been shopping much lately and with the shipping issues I was having, I kind of got frustrated, but things seem to be running a little more smoothly now and I got bored this afternoon and went shopping!
They had some new styles that I will have to get pictures of, but I did manage to get some of the classic pieces too!
Long strands- 48" Beautiful to double up, tie in a knot, or twist. They come in black, white and pink. I have-
Black x 2 at ($22) each
White x 1 with earrings and brooch and bracelet. ($30)
White x 1 with bracelet. ($27)
Pink x 1 with earrings and brooch ($23) (SOLD)

Triple strands- three strands of small pearls 18" long-
I have one pink and one white ($12) each

I have a really nice strand of white pearls, 18" with CZ accents and onyx beads. Comes with matching bracelet. I will post a picture of it tomorrow. ($28)

There is a 18" strand of high quality black pearls. Very dark with purple tones. Well matched strand. ($23) (SOLD)

Everything else I will take a picture of and post tomorrow. There are many very pretty necklace earring sets that were ($9) each and a couple items that I picked up for even less. I still have some jade pieces left too, so PM me if you would like to see pictures.
Thanks!

YAY!  I was just thinking about this thread the other day and that I hadn't seen any activity.

I'm STILL holding out hope that they will have a single chocolate or black pearl drop.

And I promise I will snap them up if I find them. Actually, today, it was hard to get any black pearls, and there were no chocolate pearls. I don't know if they have more at the other store, but I will check it out next week. I think there may be a shortage for a bit, but I am sure they will get in a new shipment soon and there may be new styles and colors then.

These were just kind of cute, Silver overlay (plate) with colored enamal. Not something I would usually bother to pick up, but they just caught my eye, and at ($9) including shipping they aren't half bad! (SOLD)

I managed to pick up another one of these coral roses. My last one went fast, and this one I was able to get for just ($21)

Another silver/enamal necklace ($9), 2 amber colored crystal bead bracelets ($5) each or both for ($8), Also, another multi necklace with blue crystals, fushia pearls, and silver pearls ($9).

I am also going to offer two of my jade bangles. They are both multi color, one has green, white, and yellow, and the other is lavender, green and yellow. These are about as close to a medium as I have seen. I can slip them on and off easily without them falling off. I just have so many, that I don't wear these ones. ($45) each. *SOLD*

If you would like a jade bangel, please PM me with size and color...I am making a list of what to pick up. Thanks!

*JADE SPECIAL*

So, my husband will be gone for two whole weeks for work, and I want to buy myself something new and shiny to keep me occupied while he is gone. However, I have spent a lot lately and I really don't want to spend a bunch more money, so I will offer a couple pieces of my Jade at a loss so I can put a little spending money back in my account!

#1- Jade Buddha
5" tall, with beautiful apple green and lavender colors. ($250) includes shipping and insurance
***And I will throw in a Jade Buddha scepter. It's about 7" long and beautifully carved.***

#2- Good Luck Coin
This coin has some beautiful mottled green colors. ($100) includes shipping and insurance.

#3- Shisa Pair
Temple Guardian Lion Dogs. ($110) for the pair including shipping and insurance.

I am also throwing together a grab bag of goodies. It will have green, yellow, and lavender jade, a bangle (extra-small), a couple pearl necklaces...over a dozen items. Some of it is left over from other batches, some of it is new, and at least one piece is out of my own cabinet. My drawer where I keep this stuff is getting full and I need to move some of it out before I go shopping again! So....let's say ($55) for the lot.

Thanks,
Mary Ann

I have a lovely Jade Buddha scepter that I will throw in with the Buddha!

I am getting a lot of requests for Bangles...so can I get a show of hands so I know how many to pick up if I get the chance? PM with size, color, and price range. Keep in mind they usually run between $30 for a light colored green small size, to $60 for a lavender medium.

I have had a few questions about the Jade Buddha and Scepter, here are some more pictures. The jade quality is very high. Even though it is not a huge piece of jade, he is very dense (like most men *j/k* Wink ), and the colors are beautiful. It's been hard getting accurate pictures of the lavender and green colors, but he has a few spots of spinach green, overall he's mostly an apple green with lavender mottling. He is the prosperity Buddha with gold bullion in his hands and a lucky coin under foot. He is to bring luck in money matters and bring wealth and prosperity.
The Scepter is like his staff. It is a luck scepter, usually found in the Happy Buddha carvings. To bring good luck in things like love and joy. Kind of a good chi collector.
There are two main versions of Buddha, if you google it, you will see two distinct forms. The happy Buddha (or prosperity Buddha) is the most common worldwide, focuses on happiness and wealth. The other Buddha, is usually in lotus postion praying and is more of a religious icon. He is all about wisdom, health, and knowledge. Sometimes he is even depicted with breasts! Although, our fat happy Buddha has man boobs too....

I got my butterfly necklaces and earrings!  Love them, great Christmas gifts! Smiley  I was wondering if you ever get jade bracelets with animals on them.  Just curious...I love jade but have a hard time affording it. LOL!

I have pearls! Lots of pearls! So I am going to do grab bags! I have 4 bags, each with at least 2 strands of pearls, and a pair of earrings. I have also included a bit of jade with each and all have something more in them. They would make perfect gifts for any occasion. Each bag will be ($25) and that includes shipping.

Pearls are natural and delicate gems, and need proper care...just as a reminder, the pearls should be wiped down with a cleaning cloth after being worn to remove any skin oils, lotions, perfumes, or any other oils that could damage the nacre (the outer layers of the pearl that makes it pretty!). A gem cleaning cloth is best, but even a clean eye glass cloth, or soft cotton wash cloth will do the job. I wipe mine every time they are worn and about once a month I polish all of them!

Neversleeps: I have actually been looking for any of the jade with carvings. I have seen them with butterfies carved on them, but they are hard to come by. In fact I didn't see any of the jade bangles the last couple of times I went. I am sure they will have more before too long, but it may be a couple months until another shipment arrives.  So to everyone who wanted a bangle...I am looking! I will let you know as soon as I can find some!

Sure, I have two left, one has 3 18" strands, white, pink, black and more.... The other has three 18" strands (triple strand) in pink white and peach and more...

I have been trying to get more of the longer strands, 24" or 48" but they have been hard to come by. I did get one strand of lovely black pearls, that I am disassembling to make drop pearl necklaces. I ordered the things I will need to make different styles, and I will put them up here with pictures once I get them done. It will take a couple weeks, for the stuff to get here, and at least another week for me to actually make them, but hopefully I will have some nice offerings by next month. I took jewelry making and design classes in college, and I figure it's about time I start making my own! Now all I need is to get my hands on some more of the chocolate pearls...

Thanks, Mary Ann!  I have a coworker who loves the pearls I have gotten from you, and she asked me to keep a lookout for her.  I'll let her know about the grab bags.  Can't wait to see the drop pearl necklaces you make!
