I'm always scared of breaking electronic things. Therefore I have some questions.

-In sleepmode, how cold weather do you take your kindle out in? (It's winter here..) Here it can go from -10 'til -20 derees celcius. Is that too cold to take my kindle in a bag?

-How cold or warm weather do you use your kindle in?

-Do you read on your kindle out in the sun?

- Do you take your kindle out and read while raining (in zip-lock or something)?

Your Kindle will be fine in your bag in all weather types.
I personally don't stand outside in the rain to read or otherwise.
I am going to be purchasing a weatherproof bag for the summer for sitting at the beach at the lake or beside the pool.
I never leave my K in my vehicle for great lengths of time no matter what the weather is.

I have no vehicle, so it's just a matter of carrying it to the bus and back..

-20 C....oh my thats cold.

Amazon has listed its operating temperature to 32°F to 95°F (0°C to 35°C), and Storage temperature: 14°F to 113°F (-10°C to 45°C).

In my opinion, I wouldn't try to operate it at that low of a temperature.  If I leave it in my car and its 10 degrees F out I try to let it warm it up a bit before I start running it.  Otherwise it is super sluggish.

I wouldn't worry about it, especially if it's in a case.  A case isn't just protection from drops and whatnot, it'll act like insulation, too.  If you were out in the cold for hours at a time, yeah maybe I'd worry, but just going to the bus and back, no problem. Smiley

I totally understand your concern, though.  For me, it's not even about the monetary value of my Kindle, now, it's valuable to me for its own sake.  It's probably the gadget I'd be least willing to part with, and that includes my laptop and phone.

It's just 10-15 minutes, still I thought I would ask. I will have it in it's cover, packed in something soft, in a soft bag, in my normal bag. I guess ten minutes won't hurt  Tongue

But are you scared, reading in the sun in the summer?

I can totally understand why it's your most important gadget! It's for me too,and mine haven't even arrived!

There used to be a sun fade issue, but Amazon has fixed all that so you should be able to read in the sun with no problem.

If it gets broken you will need to call customer service and they will send you a new once, within a year.  Reading in the sun is ok, the sun fade was the print would fade out when the kindle screen was exposed to the sun.
