My kindle is charging. Didn't have to yet I guess, but some say you should charge before warning comes. It won't let me read while doing though, so I'm eagerly awaiting for it to finish! I read In Her Name, just started, and I am really exited to read more! Just had to write something while waiting... Some says you can read while usb charging, but I can't seam to make it work. I clicked safely remove and didn't remove it, but couldn't read still..

You are charging on your computer, right, because you don't have an adapter for the plug (you are in Norway...)?

Supposedly, you can click on the button to "safely remove the hardware" from your computer, which will bring you back to a reading screen. Leave it plugged in to charge and read while it is charging. I've never actually done this but that is supposed to be the way it works. Maybe someone else will chime in.

If the "safely eject hardware" icon has disappeared from the tray at the bottom of your puter screen, you can go to My Computer, right click on the Kindle drive, and choose "eject" from the pull down menu.

Hope that helps.

On my mac, I usually eject the kindle icon, continue charging and reading.
