Well, considering that presumably you bought it not knowing there was a 2.3 update in the future, even if it never updated, I wouldn't call it a piece of junk.   It would still do everything you bought it for.     But, as Leslie's link shows, you can do the manual update yourself.  Let us know if you have any problems.

I think I remember reading somewhere that amazon is no longer automatically sending out the 2.3 update.  If you want it anymore you will probably have to do the manual update.
