Product Description
Fishing’s Greatest Misadventures presents twenty-six true stories which cover the spectrum from terrifying to comical to downright bizarre. In these pages everyday fishermen, pros, and journalists tell their stories of freak accidents, fishy attacks, pranks, idiotic decisions, eerie or unexplained incidents, and other jaw dropping, adrenalin-pumping calamities. The stories bring to life the strange possibilities that await us once we cast our lines into known and unknown waters.

Here are some of the characters you'll meet inside these pages:

* A sport fisherman who gets taken on harrowing underwater ride by an angry white shark.
* An adventure angler whose boat is over turned by a 200 lb Amazon-river catfish.

Thx, Ms. Mott.  Having the emotional stability of a Zelda Fitzgerald [I sucked my thumb till I was ~13], I often lie motionless in the dark on the floor of my walk-in closet, fearing, as I'm wont, that my plastic wonder is being assembled in the Crab Nebula somewhere a long time ago in the future, and w/ the knowledge that "space-time" is curved... Well, you get the picture!  I'm actually normal [boring, to tell the truth], but I scare children often w/ an odd stare I have acquired from a fiendish addiction to Diet Coke.  As a "failed" [still amateur] comedy writer from Los Angeles, I am pleased you liked my 'pitchers!  I gotta go back to the closet now.  Bye --

Hi!

I'm new to the site and will be a new Kindle owner this month!
As a tekkie and avid reader I'm so excited I can barely stand it.
I've purchased a reading light and two covers and have already picked out the skin I want, and
had the nerve to email decalgal to request it.

Um, maybe I should slow down?

I don't know how I'm going to tame my inner Veruca Salt when I can buy books
whenever and wherever I want, and receive them in a minute.

I might need a support group.  Smiley

Welcome bayou! I'm not sure if you're in the right place for a support group. We tend to support bad behavior. The whole place is filled with enablers. You sound like you'd fit right in at the Accessories Board.

I send DecalGirl requests all the time. They don't mind. They just pass them along to their art department. I've already sent in a request for 5 kindle2 skins. Arabian Nights, Night Lady, Her Abstraction, Pink Tranquility and, and...uhm, can't remember the last one now. But I'm sure it was pretty (and probably pink) Oh that's it! Jolie!

Bella (my soon-to-be kindle) must not be nekkid for too long!

Hello from Iowa.  I'm a first time poster - anywhere!  Have been lurking in the background for about a week or so, and finally decided to take the plunge and just jump in!  I'm expecting my Kindle on 2/25 and I can't wait.  My family can't wait either - they are tired of hearing me talk about her!  I'm so misunderstood Wink

Hello from Southern Maryland, from a first time poster.  I'm can't wait for Feb.25th to get here!  My family will be happy too.  My mother in-law ordered my kindle on her account for Christmas and I keep pestering her to check her account. That's what she gets for trying to reduce of the number books I have around the house.

Hello everyone -- I've been a Kindle 1 owner for over a year but only recently stumbled upon the Kindleboards when looking for information about skins and covers for my soon-to-arrive Kindle 2.  I've been lurking in the background for the past couple of days, and thought I should officially join the group and say "hi."  A bit about myself -- I'm a mother of three and my two favorite things (ok, aside from my kids and husband) are Chicago Bears football and my Kindle.  If anyone knows where I can get a Bears' logo cover for my Kindle, you would make my day!

Thanks for the great tips I've picked up from you all so far, and I look forward to joining in on some of your book discussions in the future!

Carrie, my suggestion would be to check a fabric store for Bears themed fabric.  There are a number of folks here who have covered their 'boring' covers with fabric to make a customized cover.  Vegas_Asian is one. . . .also there's a guy who makes Kindle covers and sells them via "strangedog.com"  I understand he'll do custom covers if you send him the fabric.

If you're looking for something in leather, I'd suggest finding someone in your community that can do the tooling on a cover you bring in. . . .

Welcome to KB!  If you want. . . head on down to Intros and Welcomes and repost your intro there.  Also, you might check out the Accessories forum for cover ideas. . .

Thanks for all the "welcomes" -- and the advice on a Bear's cover!  I have somewhat resigned myself to not being able to find one commercially, but have looked into having one made.  Unfortunately, most people I spoke with were concerned about licensing issues (which I fully understand).  I may be attempting to make one myself!

Glad to have found this site, for my new obsession! I'm a 54 year-old E.R. physician, an avid reader (mainly history, intrigue/detective tales and science fiction), who's been sitting on the fence, waiting to buy a Kindle, for over a year. My wife and I both love to read, and we're getting overrun with books, which get reread frequently!

I waited for the Kindle 2, but after seeing that it doesn't include memory expansion or allow extra batteries (a hot topic on many forums, I see), decided to buy a "new sealed" Kindle 1 from eBay, along with a 4GB SD card and a couple of spare batteries. (Combining books, magazines, newspapers, and mp3s, as well as a few favorite blogs, I was a bit worried about 1.4GB limit on the Kindle 2, and during camping trips without AC power, extra batteries will be useful) It should be here in 2 days, and I can't wait! My wife has even gotten excited about reading on this, so that I'm pretty sure I'll be buying her (or me?) a Kindle 2 in the near future! I'm also looking forward to introducing my 77 year-old Mom to Kindle, as she continues to read a relentless trail of new books each month - keeps her mind sharp, and her conversation alive!

I'm already thinking that perhaps our 5 grown children might like Kindles next Christmas!

Hello r0b0d0c and welcome to KindleBoards and your new addiction!!  Grin So glad to have you here. I tried to interest my mom in a Kindle, but she says she would rather not. My daughter has a K2 on order and my DIL will probably be getting one as well.
