So after she froze when I exposed her to too much writing in the notebook, she froze on me two times. I did two reboots. Can they hurt her?
You see, I thought she recovered, but yesterday she did something strange. I turned on whispernet to download the book I got for free from amazon. It started to get the book, but then she froze and before I could do something about it, she started doing a reboot by her own!? Then I tried to download again, but it took to long time, it's now in the archives, but I don't know if I want to take the chance again on downloading that one. Otherwise her health is good.

That doesn't sound like normal behavior, I'd call customer service and see what they say.

I think I would try leaving the Whispernet on for quite a while, while the Kindle is charging on the wall charger or USB charger... doing a reset, and then download the book one more time....... I just can't imagine the book causing a problem with your Kindle unless it's the massive federal budget that is now available for download and would probably take forever to index. If I still had problems, I would call Amazon because if the problem isn't with your Kindle, then they need to know that they have a ebook that is causing problems.

It downloaded the book perfectly today. It may be because the whispernet is not really strong here? It's the doing a reboot by herself that really worries me, but she works perfectly, so maybe I shouldn't worry?

Thank God! My nightmare now would be having to send her back and get a replacement. Imagine days without my kindle, and then it would be another kindle too! But I understand things like that can happen, so I will as soon as I have the money, buy another e-reader. Thinking of getting a Sony Reader pocket (300). Another benefit of that would be that I can buy Norwegian books too. But I won't give up on my kindle, I love her!

I'm starting to believe that just a couple of days without Kindle would have a therapeutic effect on many members here, including me.

Sometimes a little pain can go a long way, but I'm going to leave this experiment for others to try.

haha I knew it! You don't want to be without your kindle either I'm in Norway, getting a new kindle would probably take me days, maybe a week!

Generally, I believe if Amazon determines your kindle needs to be replaced, they send the replacement straightaway and you can return the defective unit after the new one arrives. . . as long as they get it back within 30 days they don't charge you for the replacement.
