I just received my new cover from BoxWave.com. It is the Amazon Kindle Sienna Leather Elite Kindle Case (Designed for 2nd Generation Kindle). I purchased when it was on sale for $14.95 it has since went up to $16.95 with free shipping on a $25.00 order. This case is small and holds my Kindle very secure. It does not have the hinges like my M-Edge Go cover did. Not that I had any problems with the hinge system. The case has two permanent loops with two elastic loops that hold the Kindle. The leather is nice and soft. It has a vintage look to it. The case has a magnetic clasp that closes on the back of the cover. BoxWave provided excellent customer service and the shipping was fast. It was delayed by UPS a day due to the snow here on the East Coast. If you a looking for another case at a reasonable price you might want to consider this case. It also comes in other colors and a patent leather one as well. Sorry the pictures are not the best still trying to get use to my new camera. They also carry one for the DX as well. Front of Case Back of Case Inside of Case To show color of case with skin Case next to M-Edge Go case About a 1/4 inch smaller than the M-Edge

How is the quality of the leather? Is it very thin? How does it compare to say the Noreve or Cole Haan?

The quality of the leather is good, very soft. I think it is better than the M-Edge go cover that I have. The BoxWave cover is lighter weight and thin. From pictures I have seen of the Noreve, I think it similar in size to Noreve. Sorry haven't looked at the Cole Haan. The cover is padded more than what my M-Edge cover is. I have noticed a real difference between my previous case and the BoxWave when reading my Kindle, much lighter and easier to hold. Hope this helps.

I have the exact same case - got it @ $9.99. Also bought boxwave red patent and black leather - Also for $9.99. I still have the sienna brown. Sold the red patent (fingerprint magnet). I'm currently not using the sienna brown - leather not very good quality but it has the hinge system which I love. Also - all boxwave covers have rear grilles for the speakers - GREAT feature. My fav boxwave is the black leather that I got as a replacement for the original black I bought. The original had a hinge system - hinge broke off INTO my kindle (still kinda rattles around in there) but it has not caused any permanent harm (so far....). Bottom line on boxwave. Leather on black - nice quality at an incredible price. Sienna and red patent leather quality - not so good. If they could have kept the hinge system on the black - perfect combo.

Wow, I guess when they changed from the hinge system they improved the quality of the leather because mine if very nice. I think it is better than the M-Edge Go. My M-Edge case from about a week or two after I got it started along the spine with the leather what looks to be separating from the backing from being folded back. My Boxwave is not doing that. I never contacted M-Edge because I assumed that it was going to do that because of folding it back and I as long as it kept my Kindle protected I would be OK with it. Of course I knew by reading the boards that it would not be my last case I would buy for my Kindle or the last skin or the last light etc... I can say after having the Boxwave case for a little over a month I am still very pleased with it and would recommend it for someone looking for something at a good price or while waiting to save up for a fancier case.

Good point about the change in leather qualify. You're absolutely right about the quality. My black w/tabs is far superior to the others that had hinges. That's maybe why they increased the price from $9.99 - 14.99. Looking at your photos, I can definitely tell a difference between the Sienna leather I have and yours. Your newer one is much more padded, thicker, plus it has the leather inner flap. The one I have has that grey felt stuff as a flap.

How thick and heavy is it? That is my issue. I want one that is very thin and light.

It is 3/4 inch thick with the Kindle in it and using an old postage scale it is 7 1/2 oz empty. I don't think you could find much thinner or lighter unless you would go with something nylon. Hope this helps.

I bought this same case here on kindleboards on the Buy, Sell, Trade & Barter forum and I absolutely love it! I had a purple pebbled leather M-Edge Go case and this one looks and feels much nicer. (Although the Go case is still a very nice case - but for the price it is inferior to the BoxWave.)
The thing I like most about it is the neutralness of it - it matches any purse I stick it in, and it just looks so much higher quality than the other case.

If you fold this case completely flat to read, is there any way to fasten the closure strap out of the way?

Yes, I fold mine back all the time and then snap the strap backwards if that make sense. Mine is completely out of the way all the time while I am reading. Hope this helps.

Your opinion is likely due to the fact that the Sienna Elite isn't real leather. I am not sure but I believe the black is real leather. Not sure why they did it this way. I exchanged emails with Boxwave complaining about their product name stating "leather" when it is really a synthetic leather. You have to read further down in the description (smal print) to see the truth. I'm not saying it isn't nice...I don't know because I didn't order one. My point is simply that the name of the product (large print at top of product page) states that the product is leather, not synthetic. It is not. Very misleading, in my opinion. Leather is animal hide, not some man-made material. Sorry if someone else mentioned this. I missed it if they did. I am not trying to slam the OP's cover. I just think people should be aware of what they are buying. From Boxwave's product page: Sienna Leather Elite Case Features: # Animal friendly synthetic leather
